Your videos are really excellent Will. I've watched most of this series and I have now bought this kit to build whilst re-watching. It will be the third kit that I will have built since coming back to the hobby after more than 40 years.

As a lapsed aircraft modeler returning to the fold after around a decade or two I have been binge watching your vids, much to the wife's annoyance, and they've been a god send. I've learned so much and want to give a big thumbs up thank you.

Will, I’ve been kicking around this planet for nearly 70 years. Attitude says a lot about a person. Great people have great attitudes (like you) and personalities to match. People with bad attitudes, I generally ignore. They’re not worth the effort. Been modelling for at least 60 years and STILL learning stuff. Like the pliers with the anvil. Definitely going to get some. Got a Spit in the works (Tamiya of course) but I’m going to hold off finishing until you get to that point. Cheers, keep up the great videos.

The lever you struggled to identify is the pump handle for the undercarriage hydraulics fitted to the early Mk1's. I have the same kit in my stash so I am keen to watch your video series. Cheers.

Will: I enjoy your videos, good job. One reason is the depth of detail, by-in-large (pun intended...a nautical term, as a Navy Vet I enjoy building ships). But because I do pay pretty close attention to your words I decided to order from Amazon and Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire MK1 that will be here is a week or so. I will follow along at your pace and look forward to joyful and meaningful results ;-)... Take care...

Hello Will, I'm a bit late catching your video of the beautiful Spitfire by Tamiya. But since I have this kit I think your take is very important and explanation of why when how exceptional. History of DW-K? It was actually a Mk.Ia Spitfire of 610 squadron at Biggin Hill which was one of THE front line Battle of Britain bases. DW-K survived the Battle of Britain but was written off in 1941 when the pilot failed to notice a tree. Pilot fine, plane wrecked. FYI the Spit might be beautifu, iconic and all that but I am, and always have been a Hurricane man. The forgotten fighter. On with the video which I am liking very much. Regards from England.

Although I wouldnt call myself a begginer I look forward to see how you overcome any little curve balls get sent along the way and your thoughts regarding paint etc.

    Will,
Great video, as usual. I always enjoy watching your stuff.
As for dealing with the remaining sprue gate material, might I suggest a pair of good quality cuticle cutters from your local drug store? They are rarely good for removing parts directly from the sprue due to the internal angle of the blades, but if held against the part properly, always make a beautiful, flush cut when removing the sprue gate remnants. You're sure to find them quite handy for a variety of modeling situations.
Thanks for sharing and happy holidays.

Really looking forward to this series Will. I like the longer videos; 10 minutes of random has it's place but, for a build like this, you can cover so much more in a decent-length video.
Have a great Christmas/New Year, Cheers for now,🍻🎅

Nice video Will, I have a tendency of adjusting the parts before commit to glue, so in the case of that panel line little alignment difference I would be scraping the flange on the insert until I get the parts to level out, I did that with the door of the Corvette from Revell (witch have a serious alignment issue) and it worked perfectly, I have saw people gluing it in place and sanding down later but it deforms the outer shape of the car and affects the side highlight reflections, ( I recognize that it's not a problem you are going to find on a WW2 airplane tough...) check what I'm talking about here in this video at 2:36 th-cam.com/video/z7k_3FEM4xw/w-d-xo.html

Nice quality, but so much mistake in the kit :( 1. the Seat is wrong for MKI, these flare racks were not installed on the seat. 2. armour mounting screws on the back rest frame.. also wrong for a MKI. They were introduced later. 3. the metal bar was not fitted to the MKI doors
