- Las Vegas Raiders Allegiant Stadium USAF Thunderbirds Flyover taken on Monday, August 31, 2020. This is video of the Thunderbirds returning home to Nellis Airforce Base from a show over the weekend. The local news said the Thunderbirds were going to make a flyover of the city at 1:10pm from the west side to Henderson and then north down the Strip back to Nellis. I figured it was a great reason to go to the Stadium to get some footage of them flying over the Stadium. The video starts on the south end on the Russel Rd bridge. I then go to the Hacienda bridge and my wife records from Hacienda and Polaris. You can see them starting the flight on the west side of town above Summerlin heading south and then east to about I-15 and then north toward Nellis Airforce Base. I also got to meet some Raider brother's from Sacramento out at the Stadium. It's always great to see the excitement this new Stadium brings to everyone who sees it. Yes, they cleaned everything thing up and left. I'm thinking they are waiting on parts.
I think it is worse than that. If I had to guess, whoever laid the screen out forgot that the diameter of the stadium increases from bottom to top so the parts for the screen were design the for wrapping around a constant-diameter cylinder. Now they have found out that things don't fit and no matter how much they play around, there isn't enough play in the brackets of screen segments.
They are faced now with a big decision - if they want the lines of the screen segments to be parallel to the boundaries between the windows, then They are going to have to spread the two big gaps out evenly along the entire display. They will probably also have to do a scan conversion that accommodates the change in horizontal screen pitch from top to bottom.
If they want to keep the lines of the screen segment parallel to each other, then they are going to have to modify the mounting bracket locations and live with the fact that viewers will see that the segments do not line up with the glass seams.
Makes me wonder if they just put off this decision at the beginning hoping no one would notice. They never figured on the sharp eyes of Duntov and the fan base.

Mr. Duntov: how about a guest fan stayover club for Raider Fans visiting from Sacramento, Oakland, San Fran, etc. Especially if they are Raider Season Ticket holders. We may also set up a host/guest registry of some kind. At least a buddy registry in case out of city Raider fans get stuck or lose a hotel room including any real emergency situation. Just a thought to show what a great city, great local fans, and the great Team that we have.

I don't think they will play it on the media mesh screen. The way it's looking, it probably won't be completed by then.

There will be possibility of an OSHA investigation on why the boom fell over. that is why there is no activity on the video screen.
OSHA is definitely doing an investigation into why the boom lift fell over, but right after the incident and for 2+ weeks afterwards, they consistently continued to use the various types of lifts on the outside of the stadium.
