This song is an amazing example of controlled chaos. It feels like at any moment, this song is gonna go completely off the rails, but it just builds and builds layers upon layers, and the band is completely in control.
So much I love about this performance. The sense of organised chaos, the horns, the harmonising, the way one of the best guitarists of his era is on the drums, the fucking bassline. And most people who aren't fans have no idea this songs even exists.
It's a French Horn I think kudos to you for doing this I think they were listening to Miles Davis's Bitches Brew a lot when they made this (amazing Jazz/Rock fusion). This whole basement session is right up your alley if you like a mix of styles it's an incredible show they do things with 2 drummers I have never seen before the percussion is insane on every song in this session. This is not high on my list as far as Radiohead records (still great) but the basement session is unreal.
@Timeritual they just headline bbc 6 festival in Manchester 2 weeks ago so there might b vids up on youtube. They just put out there 2nd record this year called wall of eyes . Bending hectic is my personal fave of the new album
i love your reaction, thanks a lot for doing it! here are some interesting music that i would like you to react to if possible (it looks like you only react to live performances so i'm only giving you songs that have a good live videos on youtube): - the mars volta - wax simulacra (yahoo session) - tigran hamasyan - drip (berklee studio recording) - animals as leaders - the brain dance (live dunlop session) - thank you scientist - mr. invisible (solar powered live)
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks so much for watching it and taking the time to comment these suggestions. These are all great artists. I will definitely react to these very soon.
I also love the percussion in the other basement session Reckoner especially you should react to that it only has one drummer instead of 3 but there are other elements of percussion that elevate it. It's such a simple song but incredible nontheless. It shows that you don't have to have multiple drommers to have an amazing full percussion sound.
Anything from this entire session is fantastic syncopated insanity I love it.
Love the chaos in the beginning and then they get it all together. More stuff from the basement TKOL. Try separator, staircase etc.
3 percussionists on this track, phenomenal live
Having multiple layers of percussions really brings this song to life
my favorite song ever!
It’s sounds amazing! Thanks for watching!

Yup, great way to put it
Great observation about the horns harmonising with the lead vocal . Never really noticed that before.

It’s become one of my favorite Radiohead songs! Thanks for watching

French horns are the big circular ones. I think those are flügelhorns.
@@PresidentHotdog Yes I think you are correct.
Check out the smile . Thom and Johnny s new band . More jazzy drumming on that
Nice, do you have a particular live performance I should check out?

Time, it's interesting you mention Drum & Bass. The second drummer is Clive Deamer, who was formerly a member of Roni Size's live band
They should have released the live basement version as the album, it's far superior to the released record
It’s an amazing performance
