I can confirm moncler sells the best jackets and keeps u extremely warm but comparing my authentic moncler limited edition Zin Jacket from 2015 Breuninger (German designer retailer) which was 1.2k retail to the 1:1 replica of the Montbeliard I can say they keep you as warm and to make the nylon and the padding look like the authentic u just have to dry wash with tennis balls because they are kept in the moncler plastic bags and are very wrinkled. I think the feather problem is common, in my Maja Moncler and a friend of mine had feathers popping From the back of the jacket, but I totally agree moncler is just on another level
Moncler uses goose down which generally has high fill levels and their jackets are 90% down and 10% feathers typically (which is good). Cheaper jackets use more feathers, and it’s the feather’s shaft that tends to puncture through a jackets fabric causing a jacket to leak feathers. That said, you can definitely get a jacket with the same fill level and down to feather ratio for a quarter of the price. U really are paying a whole lot extra for the brand with a Moncler jacket. Credit card companies love people who can’t actually afford the things they buy. As a guy I spend tons of money on motorcycle gear so to each their own :)
Smart guy lol, Moncler can never compare to a Canada Goose or Woolrich or even Stone Island in terms of warmth, waterproofness and even design for me personally. Don't forget Moncler is a ski brand, people mostly ski when the sun is out. And since you're so high up (closer to the sun) it's warmer on a mountain doing an actual sports activity. You said it best, Moncler is for fashion and show off. Those other brands are for both. So warmth + fashion.
