At 0:53, how did Finn not take damage from the first die of Light attack? Is protection applied before resistance, meaning that the 2 damage would have been reduced to 0, and thus not get doubled to 4 from the staggered state?
Not that it matters, as Finn wpuld have had enough health to survive anyway.

That's correct. Protection is applied before resistances. For example if you have 3 protection while staggered and take an attack with value of 5, protection will substract 3 from the attack and the remainder will be doubled, dealing 4 damage in total instead of 10.

Interestingly, this is why Protection is the best way to counter The Strongest Color Fixer, with enough Protection she can barely activate her conditionals since she can barely go above 8 damage
