  • A well-chosen home fragrance can be magical for a small apartment - especially for a studio apartment like the one I live in! I would even say that candles, reed diffusers, and room spray are just as important as your other apartment decor in terms of making your space feel like your personal oasis.
In this video, I'm sharing 5 of my favorite home fragrances that I use in my studio apartment decor, from Diptyque room spray to Le Labo Santal 33. In my opinion, these are the best home fragrance products in terms of quality, and are a bit more on the splurge-worthy side, I'll admit. But if you're wanting to level up your candle game with luxury home fragrance and home scents that last, these are my personal favorites.
So let's talk about how to make your apartment smell good!

Lately I'm noticing that people don't seem to realize that Le Labo first launched Santal 26 which IS a room spray and it's the "original" version. But when Le Labo heard that people were using the room spray as perfume they advised against it and then launched Santal 33 to answer the call for an actual perfume...

Voluspa makes a gorgeous winter scent called White Cypress. Very woody. It's like a fresh, uplifting cologne.

OKAY. So. I was already getting obsessed with your channel and then you start talking fragrances! I am a massive fragrance enthusiast (on my midnightstinks TikTok I I share reviews...I hope that isn't tacky to mention) and it's so refreshing to find a TH-camr who isn't like "oh this smells amazing!" and then proceeds to ...not tell us what it smells like. Or even worse, "oh, I love this, the bottle is SO AESTHETIC." Sheesh. I get kind of embarrassed for these people, but they've got a million followers, so what do I know, I guess. I suppose I shouldn't try to make a new friend by crapping all over other people, but can I just say again that your channel really is a breath of fresh (fragrant, beautifully appropriate for a small space) air!
But anyway! Favorite room scents: Baies candles from Diptique--green and rosy, but not a stuffy rose, more a blackberry leaf fairytale rose. Hinoki room spray from Te+Te is like a cypressy cedary prayer in a shadowy forest temple, and Spirit Lamp candle from DS & Durga is aromatic resins, milky musk and a tannic almost metallic note that seems a little weird, but really brings it all together.

I’m deep into patchouli in my diffuser. I try other scents but keep going back to patchouli. Of course, part of that may be because I had the dreaded “C” flu 14 months ago, losing my sense of taste and smell and neither have totally returned but patchouli is strong enough that I can smell it.

Aw I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm so glad you've found an option that works for you though! I love a well-done patchouli scent. My boyfriend wears this really nice patchouli oil, and it's incredible 🥰

I love warm and cozy, Manhattan by Antica Farmista is my fave. I like their Ironwood during spring and summer but sometimes just leave it with Manhattan because I love it so much! And I agree, Santal 33 is amazing as well!!

love most of your videos, but i gotta say this one stands out - a list of 5 recommended candles should in fairness just be a blog entry we can read over in 10 seconds, not an 8 minute video

Currently enjoying vanilla/honey scents. Its hard to find one that's not sugary/cupcake smelling.

I'm always into a good Sandalwood scent. Currently burning my Sandalwood candle right now. As much as I like buying candles by others to explore other fragrances, I prefer to make my own because I'm headache prone and asthmatic. Which unfortunately, causes me to be sensitive to certain fragrance combinations and chemicals that can trigger my headaches or an asthma flair up. Making my own candles allows me to have fragrances I love without having the other issues I tend to have. I am intrigued by that Artistica (something or other) reed diffuser you mentioned. 🤔 Sounds like it smells great. I'm positive I butchered their brand name, thank goodness you have it linked so I can find it. 😄

Oooh I LOVE that you make your own candles! What an awesome solution to scent sensitivity, and it also sounds so fun!
