BORESCOPE RESULTS ON MY 2019 MUSTANG GT...

  • As I get ready to create more power out of my 2019 Mustang GT I thought it would be smart to do a borescope before I void my warranty on the engine. I headed over to VOODOO Autosport to have them borescope and do a compression test on the engine and in this video I share the results of our borescope and compression test.

it's that high pressure mechanical fuel pump that is the ticking ill bet. it sounds like an old diesel fuel pump. they mount it right over a cylinder so it might be ampliying the sound. IDK

Doesnt mean there is one you can see on that crappy bore scope...did you not view those pictures cant see shit on a phone LOL...anyway Mike740 was told he had nothing wrong 8 months when they finally pulled his pan ( which is the only way to truly check a ticker ) he did have bearing and bottom of bore issues which couldnt be seen from top....
If you have a tick that stops or lessens from a hyper lubricant like ceratec you got a metal to metal problem how long it takes to fail that's anyone's guess.

No need for fender covers when you wear a uniform designed not to scratch a car. 100% cotton shirts and pants. All the buttons and zippers are ruber coated to insure no metal or plastic can damage the finish. Plus the fact we never lean on or even touch the fenders while working.

kalenace oh fuck yeah dude look at you!! Nothing is 100% scratch proof. I mean, it’s a BLACK car, which is the worst in the world to show swirls/scratches. Why in the hell would you not take the extra step to put rubber mats on the finders? @@Livingwater1994 guess you didnt read the part where i said we never touched or leaned on the fenders. When you're a professional you know how to properly work around delicate areas and parts without damaging them. • @Livingwater1994

kalenace Hell, I read you dude. Good for you for not leaning on it. Did I ever say you leaned on it in the first place? I guess you didn’t read me either because I’m talking about “accidents and probability.” The fender should be 100% clean anyways just in case you lean on it since you didn’t put the mats on the fenders like a professional would really do. Plus, it would make it easier on your back to lean on a mat instead of bend over a fender. The simple fact of not having to worry about leaning on it with the mats on too. I mean, do you see where I’m going with this or are you that stubborn?

@@TheCdM1981 yea enjoy that tick if they told you it smoking was normal but other engines in its class dont would you accept that? Then blanket denying coverage vs case by case diagnostics as was done eventually to Mike 740s car revealed he had bearing damage all along. If you like to sound like ass then by all means suckle the Ford shit they feed you. If your engine goes what's the diminished value on your car when that shows up on car fax? Which is the REAL reason they dropped 7718 to try to get your car with enough miles its not worth a buy back ( which is why everyone with a tick that reads this should complain and have it in writing that way your lemon law lawyer can make them go back to that initial date and mileage so you dont get hosed like Mike740 and only get and engine with no compensation for loss of value ) and especially in my state hope it rattles it way out of the first year where a lot of states lose lemon law protections and everything that comes with them including paying for your consumer protection attorney. TRUST me I got obsessed with this I rode with my wife and drove probably 30 Mustangs from 17-19 from 0 miles to 20s ( ironically Derricks is the highest mileage 3rd gen coyote I've encountered ). I've yet to hear a 17 rattle from the pan area or tip on and tip off or 2k rattle. I've seen like mine new cars not do it ( guess these are bad ones), do it slightly and do it so bad you can hear it from 50ft away...one here at my local dealer I feel sorry for whomever buys it.
Which is precisely why they should have left it to the tech and service manager to make at least the initial call to decide whether someone is being anal of if indeed like Mike and others it warrants diagnostics ( which they wont even do anymore).
Which leads to one of the problems with I got a warranty Mike 740 was ridiculed and told it was nothing yet it was a bad bearing and scored cylinders on bottom of bore you wouldnt even see with a good bore scope much less this farce. And had he not changed his tactic and complained of a oil consumption issue that car would have left him on the side of the road....maybe late for work...or maybe since he just found out he has some heart issues maybe it pops on the way to hospital which when you live rural and my wife is in the field they will tell you even if you call 911 try to get towards the hospital it cuts the ambulance time in half every mile you get towards it....and minutes saves lives.....
Personally I have no issues with the design flaw of a plasma bore being pulled over from the Voodoo but not its forged piston nor its quality control thereby making it nearly impossible to get a cast piston in tight enough cold to match the thermal expansion characteristics of the bore, coupled with a composite pan making the inevitable slap in that circumstance once the grafal skirt coating wears in ( aka around first oil change ) aka the root issue with gen 3s...its blanket denying those that got parts binned on the loose side any recourse so if you got a loose one it sounds shittier....if anything denying all proves it's more wide spread....if it was 1 or 2 they would take care of it....if it was prevalent in 2017 the internet and TH-cam was going strong in 2017 lol so that's not it....the gen 2 is a fine engine with few problems till you push it to far.....but it had thicker traditional liners a casr piston had a chance in.....why not release it as normal in 2012 if they knew it was all along? It wasnt this bad
They told us it was phasers at first then IRMC the GDI and finally they admit it's coming right where they told us we were crazy to hear it from in the TSB which itself is another admission of guilt......and leads me to this I have NO problem with Ford pushing the envelope this engine has 12 to 1 better flowing heads and fluid dampener and raised factory rev limiter but stand by your design decisions and dont wait till one tosses and rod before you fix it....the tsb says its normal ( only after it doesnt tick on demo drive mine didnt ) but doesn't say what it IS if they would say that would help a whole damn lot......truth is they know and it's bad or dont I'll leave it to the individual to determine for themselves which is worse.......
I personally didn't agree to buy a car that would sound like a diesel truck after the first oil change nor was it disclosed to me that thought my neighbors doesnt make a sound mine might knock when when I ease thru the sub division and though we both make the same payment he is much happier with his no knocking and i have old men telling me to check my oil at gas pumps or burger flippers asking me if i know my engine is making a noise....LOL....its like Ford owners have battered women syndrome he doesnt beat( tick ) all the time....as a dude that's built many engines it cake to make one that puts out 460hp that doesnt make a sound warmed up ( I'm allowing for 4032 and 2618 piston alloy to piston slap a few minutes though if you go in on the tight side especially with a 4032 piston its minimal to none). Does Coyote car guys tick with his forged pistons in same block? Nope....boosted? Nope...boosted A? Nope they all have phasers they all have timing chains what's the variable?
Thrust clearance on the crank, rod big end side clearance, rod bearing clearance, but primarily a forged piston that has a prayer of matching the thermal expansion characteristics of the bore its put in which the gen 3 plasma bore and factory cast piston doesnt......
Under this logic if you told the doctor you were bleeding out your ass and he had to pay for the test, he said that's normal at your age and your like none of my other friends or wife have ass bleeds shouldnt we check it? No not unless you pass out....of coarse they should do diagnostics you could, being a entity financially responsible say ANYTHING is normal...how about telling us precisely what it is and why some dont do it that would go a LONG way to stamping the debate out....funny that they dont......cause they cant or if they did would he damning take your pick or walk like the lemming in front of you over the cliff

An then they make up excuses when the Put boost to it an they faiI. I have seen so many guys having 10r80s fail at the track with just tunes. I’m done telling People let these guys learn the hard way. Maybe I’m wrong but I wouldn’t trust a ticking motor. Look at mustang mike 740 his car ticked an he drove it 20k miles an now his motor was swapped lmao. Seems like these TH-camr’s want to prove a point that I can’t see worth proving. I’m pretty much a honest guy definitely when it comes to my cars. If I lose a race I lost it no excuses. If I have a issue with my raptor or my mustangs I post it no excuses. Dude is right NORMALLY it's the thrust surfaces top and bottom that would take wear, but a lot of the ones that failed have been front and back due to off center borelines.
Also that bore scope needed 90 degree cameras. Not sure if it was your camera but no way that's detailed enough to see scoring on those hard plasma bores. When I took mine in they had to buy a new bore scope to image them properly and I got a 4k look compared to what your showed LOL...
Also with slightly scoring a leak down test would have been a better than compression, at this point in the life of the engine you would have MAJOR problems if it showed on a compression test ( not that having those baseline numbers arent bad for later comparison) a leak down on each cylinder works show a little more precisely if you have one going bad cough cough #3 or #8.
Wish they would have cut filter open but hell drop some boost on it now...
I will tech you my Ford tech couldnt do the bore scope with his nice traditional scope first time I came in, 2nd time a new guy was there and said no you need this one the older master tech was so enamored with it he bought one off the snap on truck that pulled up while I was setting there. In comparison, at least what you showed the first one was similar to your video but if yours was old antenna fuse his was HD and the second one with the new 360 degree view ( you need to be able to image all sides of the wall with no glare meaning you need a camera that's on the end of it( I have those myself ) but on the SIDE of the line and that second one from the side shooting snap on ( I think its model 6500 or something) those videos and photos were like 4k. Plasma bore is hard and mirror like it's very hard to see unless straight on with a quality scope. I went thru it myself using my own $270 scope then the tech the first time with his old snap on to the 2nd time with new snap on was INSANELY better imaging. If you look at coyote car guys bore scope when his failed that's what they used it was side shooting and clear as day and the scratches weren't top and bottom like the should be fyi front and back too. I'd link it but I dont know TH-cam etiquette allows that
