Hi Bro, I'm new to electronic repair and I have one of these same desoldering guns, but it is a new model. I bought it from AliExpress, and it is a new unit. When I switched it on, I heard the fuse blow. I replaced the fuse, but it blew again. Can you enlighten me on which part of the component to check first and what might cause the fuse to blow? Since you know this unit so well, your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
It is the switching mode power supply (smps). If you have experience and skills in electronics you can try to look at HOT section of the smps. I'm suspecting there are semiconductor components that are shorted (maybe one or more). If you don't have any experience better send it to the skilful technician. It is dangerous to fix it without a proper experience.

it´s clear, I understand. if you send sine 50Hz 18 vac to the heater how much temp achieves ? I have a vacuum gun but no the electronic control, can this heater support 18 VDC continuous whitout burn out ?
The heating element in the gun needs around 345 Hz to work well. I think 50 Hz will not helping much let alone DC 18V without any PWM wave. Why not you try this? Create a PWM and system of the desoldeing gun by using Arduino. Hello sir I have the same model There are 2 potentiometer inside Can i calibrate the temperature of the tip with them because its not reaching the temperature on the screen
Normally the factory has setting it up for you according to their specifications. So tamper the factory's standard calibrations may cost damage, do it at your own risk.
