Fun fact about the tornado;
The devs of Satisfactory actually contacted Josh, and asked for the save-file.
They then used it to improve performance in the game.
I seem to recall that they also asked him if they could use it in their marketing.
So yeah, that thing probably *did* put the game on the map for quite a few people.
According to another comment they have a picture of the beltnado on their store page.
For any one trying to find the image (if ur having trouble) its on Steam
Iirc one update broke save files, everyone had to start over, but they actually fixed Josh's save so it would work. He's probably brought more people into this game than any single other person, he was even a voice over in a couple update teaser trailers Coffeestain had put out
Ban this guy so much pause
@@raymurray3401 That is correct!
yes, the 22 hours were in one session (although josh tends to leaving his PC alone for weeks sometimes just to afk farm stuff)
I agree with that
@@horizonbumpy2828 by watching josh for a very long while now
He probably owns a server grade computer at this point or at least the highest end consumer grade computer available
While I think he has a really good one he doesn’t go out of his way to have masses of ram or even cutting edge stuff for the simple reason he considers it cheating. The aim of his ideas is to push every game to see where it breaks! Therefor having a supercomputer would dissapoint him. If he can’t destroy a games frame rate he hasn’t achieved one of his main goals.
Josh’s goals
How high can I build? How low can I dig? Can I do anything game breaking with the building system? How many things do I have to place down to derisory the frame rate? Are there npc’s I can torture? How can I make the most amount possible without actually doing work?
@@puppybasket3906 He's gotta at least have a 3080 no way a gtx 1060 or gtx 1660 is running this mess
Josh doesn’t use creative modes. In the rare instance he does do something in creative, he makes a point of telling you.
The Josh went so fast he not only exited the map, but also the killbox preventing you from leaving the map and the lightbox that lets you see anything (besides those little dust clouds.)
Also: it's fine. Laughing so hard you can hardly breathe is also a reaction.
Does this still work?
@@panther-nk2hn Oh yes. It's a little tricky to learn the correct distance placement, but you can certainly still launch yourself out to beyond.
Answers:
3:50 you can get biomass from animals but its not significant, you dont really need animals
4:23 yes, soft clipping is a thing and is used commonly for designs
7:15 no, it could be possible just with mods
8:40 yes there is an upgraded version, josh could upgrade them, but he doesnt want to
10:00 just with mods, creative was added recently
12:24 yes, he is playing for 22 hours straight, that message can't be influenced to pop up (maybe he stayed afk because i would assume to make that mess would take around 12 hours)
21:00 Idk, explosives are weird
21:36 There are guns with different types of ammo, there are also nukes but josh didnt play with those
22:26 not really , maybe 20 minutes to make 200 or if you have a factory , maybe less
30:10 he reached a speed so big he got sent to the far lands, thats why you shouldnt make this big of a hyper cannon (still works and its the best method of transport)
The animal parts are also used for mam research
1:00 the devs literally used his save file to improve the game and that one shot where you see the beltnado with lots of the factory is featured on the game's store page
The different ammo types are not available yet in that version of the game, tier 8 is not even available yet.
Animal parts also can be used to make medkits that heals to full. Not that really important but sure helps when you need to expand to the territory guarded by a tough foe
trees and bushes def respawn overtime
So when he went in the face ripper 9000, the reason the screen went black is that the game lost track of the player location. Basically he took off so fast the camera could not keep up and instead went to either a default location of the game's 0 coordinates. imkibitz also had the same happen in a test he did where he flew around the map with a world sized tube. But in that one he pulled up the map and it showed he was actually moving the whole thing. The screen only came back after he died as he flew out the other side so fast he flew out of bounds.
Definition of traveling faster than light. Thank you for the answer !!
A lot of what Josh plays put games on the map, satisfactory, hydroneer and others. The devs of hydroneer even put an Easter egg in the game for Josh in the form of a wanted poster.
Josh isn’t the only TH-camr to get a Easter egg, because Drae kept flipping the truck, on the bottom of the truck it now says “Drae was here”, and real civil engineer did a bridge review of the wooden bridge near the starting area, and now there’s a plaque at the base of one of the supports with the score
I'm just gonna say this: "If Josh could do it back then, chances are we can't do it now" 😂
He played the game.
That cannon he made is now a satisfactory staple. Yeeting yourself across the map at supersonic speeds is very convenient
30:06 so as someone who has seen my fair share of bugs and people exploiting them:
I can say it was probably the values being broken, he went so fast that the speed value overflowed, but there is no such thing as negative speed, since if anything it would just become speed in a different direction, but here the game got confused of what the hell it should do with the player with an overflowed speed value, so it probably just threw the player in random coordinates far beyond where the player should be able to access, the void basically
Thank you for explaining this so well!!
I have also seen this done with the nuclear explocives. cant remember who did it but he got launched vertically through the death zone but survived because of going so fast.
I find insight on bugs like this to be very fascinating, thanks for sharing!
There is such a thing as negative speed. Speed in some directions is represented as a negative value, since it makes the math much easier. Also, floating-point numbers don't overflow, they go to INF, or infinity. Since there's no geometry at INF to render, that would explain the black screen.
Creative mode only got introduced now with Update 8, which josh has NOT made a video about yet.
but since some of his shots seem to be from angles you might not get to easy, i believe he might be using mods, altough josh is also crazy enough to actually build all this.
there is a graphic cards program thingy that lets you do that iirc
in terms of material gathering and stuff josh is doing all that by hand though (although repetitive tasks he will use simple scripts like autoclickers for it)
The "such a smooth ride" part made me laugh the hardest.
29:50
Josh is the best QA employee a company wish for. 😁
LOL!
In the most recent updates, the plants grow again but not very close to the buildings and it also takes a long time, the animals are used to make those healers that he uses to recover all his life
yes its all one map and honestly the hypertube cannon is one of the most famous ways to get around because of how huge the map is fand as far as i know he is the one who discovered it though i might be wrong about that last one also fun fact satisfactor runs as well as it does to day because the devs pulled his save to analyze how to improve the games performance
This is my favorite video of his channel and the one who made me subscribe to Let's game it out. I love how he presents his hypertube discovery like an infomercial.
And so scientific
@@GoodBeard the next few he has are just as good.
I just love how the devs put the cocoon on the store page, it truely is the symbol of this game.
The funny thing is that after this a lot of gamers used this method to travel between bases
I swear, every time the screen goes completely black with a text bumper saying "Hours Later" I suffer a minor anxiety attack; I just know that the next shot of the factory we'll see is going to be so much more nightmarish than it _already was._ It's kind of, sort of, "put a gun to my head and I'll say it" beautiful xD
This was before a creative mode was even added. So all of those builds and recourses he got legit.
5:42 There's multiple levels of rock not to stop people from doing this, but because to make convincingly looking large rocky formation map designers just take mutliple models of rocks and mix and match them in one gorgeous intersecting pile of rocky goodnes. So, you end up with all these layers on inside which are just parts of the rocks which wasn't needed.
7:20 Only when game updates and there are changes to a map in specific location, so new plants may spawn. Otherwise, no. Wild animals also stop spawning when there's enough factory parts within certain distance from their spawn point.
9:32 No, it will pass content right away as long as there's where to pass it. When path it blocked (by some bottleneck or lack of further belts) it'll start to pile up.
10:00 He's likely playing with mods, but all this mess... he made it himself. Every belt and every wire.
21:00 1 explosive usually isn't enough (unless it's a nuke) and when first exploded it likely pushed the rest of the contraption away. They don't explode all at once, but in the same order as you place them with slight delay between each.
21:38 No, except other bombs. And bullets, if you expand the definition of throwing things.
22:30 Yes, it's quite fast. As long as you make a factory making them and forget about it for an hour you'll get back to a lot of those.
30:10 He got sent so far away in a single jump that he went through a kill-zone and skydome and end up on the other side, as I understand. The thing is movement is incremental in games and this trick just makes increment so ridiculously high that you are teleporting instead of flying at this point.
30:55 That's not even the only version of this cup. The best surprise is actually from feeding a ticket back to the sink.
you dont "need" to kill the animals, but pre Update 7 it was kinda a "kill or be killed" world, and also you can process their drosp to help you A LOT with biofuel in the beginning
I can't find the video anymore, but Josh used to work in the movie industry as a continuity supervisor. In the video Josh was interviewed. I never saw what he looked like before that point, but his voice was unmistakable.
I just love when josh giggles in ridiculous for the over the topness of things.
You're right! The tornado video not only put the game on the map for me, it convinced me to build my first pc in ten years just to play it.
I love that the hypertube has become something all satisfactory users use for travel now
I mean that when letsgameitout discovered the boost system it become a staple of satisfactory to use that in your base as a way to travel to other bases
the storage units have an upgraded version, which doubles in inventory size, physical size (double as tall) and inputs/outputs
I normaly heavily dislike letting my decisions be influenced by advertisements and recommendations, going as far as to completely avoid anything that has been announced.
But I do admit that it's only thanky to Josh that I've come across this game, saw what it had to offer, purchased it and actually enjoyed every moment I've spent with this game so far.
I can confirm that conveyornado was what got me into the game in the first place.
21:01 all of the player constructed buildings and vehicles are unaffected by explosives, probably to avoid the frustration of the common Minecraft scenario where all your hard work gets destroyed by one idiot with a bomb. In many games specific physics effects are turned on or off for certain items, like whether a hitbox is affected by gravity. So there are a few scenarios I can think of that could cause that effect; either the nobelisk code glitched out when it got attached to something it couldn't explode, so instead of explosions being disabled on just the cart, explosions were disabled on all the nobelisks attached to it; or the nobelisks registered as being inside the hitbox of the cart, and so the explosion couldn't spread outside the walls of the hitbox; or the cart was coded not to damage or destroy anything, so anything attached to it would get roped into the effect and also not damage or destroy anything.
30:13 My guess is he built up so much speed that he broke through the skybox and out of the entire game area to the point where even the sun didn't render. Or maybe the game just crashed.
But I'm not a coder, I've just been playing video games since 2008 and got halfway through a Brilliant course on programming.
You should totally play Satisfactory! it would be a fun video series to watch!
fun fact the devs have stated that they used his giant tornado/ diamond structure to test and improve lag, graphics, and game performance for later updates.
the little factory cart actually drives bad on purpose forwards on every non-foundation ground, but doesnt in reverse
reverse is simply better
My favorite part about this is Josh invented something that revolutionized travel in Satisfactory that the devs can’t really patch out. Everybody uses it and there’s no way to fix the bug
A couple of people have said about the Devs using Josh’s save file to fix frame rates, but I’m not sure if anyone else has mentioned the fact that one of the updates broke save games, but the Devs managed to alter Josh’s so he could keep using it
Id love to see you continue to react to this series
Whenever I watch let’s game it out with friends or family, they usually say “thanks, I hate it” 😂
You can link lots of containers in a line since they have intake and outtake ports, so they will fill with materials one by one starting from the last one in the chain. Everyone should try this game, its actually really fun.
Ok, so Hostile enemies drop remains.
There are 4 types of Enemies
HOGs, Plasma Spitters, Stingers (The 6 legged spider like thing), and Hatcheries, which spawn Fireflies that exploded when they hit you.
Take the remians top the MAM, and it will unlock things.
Like a Rebar Gun and Health Inhalers.
It's also a good way to make Coupons at the Awesome Sink, by making them into DNA capsules.
he really does do the stuff manually in survival mode
i found it great the devs used his saves to fix the framerate issues made by his tornado and the weave
Josh: ho ho ho, your approaching me?
did you say oh my gosh or oh my, josh? :P
Please keep going, love your reactions! Wouldn't mind if you branched out to other videos of his beyond satisfactory BTW, they're all amazingly funny (even more I'd say in general).
No problem, bud. We all laugh, sometimes uncontrollably, at the absurdity that is Let's Game it Out.
"That storage container looks massive."
The irony is that the small one in the hub holds more than the basic storage container does. LOL
In borderlands the pre sequel, the big rocket that gets launched stops so far away and you can still see it with a sniper scope.
I just noticed when he tried the explosives on the larger creature he had 479 then when he cuts to showing the face he only has 123 left. I think I see why his framerate dropped. Like he says about 400 but man that's crazy to think trying to place all those.
And congratulations on 24,700 subs goodbeard
he 11:56 didn't connect the storage containers mostly. It's just a lot of single storage units all over the place without any sytem
Cannon transit still works fine. In update 8 infact with new changes to parachutes and jetpacks even better.
storage works the other way around, it always passes through if it has an output belt connected, it only stores if it has nothing to put the items on
That 'atta boy' hits different to me. I am like encore
There is a big container with 2 inputs and 2 outputs later, with twice the space
Daisy chaining storage, like that, the Items just past straight thru, to the belt on the other side, as long as nothing backs them up.
29:52 "Hey, you, you're finally awake."
13:13 - I understand not knowing everything about that game, but I do want to mention here that there is indeed a "camera mode" which allows you to zoom quite a distance away. No flying nor building needed!
This makes a lot of sense! Thank you for that answer
The storage units will keep passing resources along until it reaches the last storage unit in the line. When the last one on the line gets filled then it feels second to last etc.. ect..
21:00 ... My guess is that the explosions are tied to where they are placed and not where the animation is, so it it is placed on the ground it will hit anything in the area of the explosion but if it is placed on an entity that can move the only damages the entity and possibly the area where the entity was when it was placed and not where it moved to.
oh yes... josh gonna clean up dem rads alright... boy oh boy oh boy...
I read that exactly in Josh's voice. 🤣
He used to be a beta tester his job was literally to find glitches so with his experience he knows what things can cause stuff like leaving this dimension or glitching through walls
In theory, if you made a ramp from upper death plane to lower death plane... on 1 meter ramps.... Honestly I don't how long that would be... or even if it would fit on the map....
but you could just keep sliding as long as the is an decline.
usually, they dont grow back just exceptionally with some updates when they changed something on the foliage
Nice you are giving him credit :)
A ne contestant has entered my youtube feed...you did something right and have been blessed by the algorithm gods
Josh is one of the reason I bought some games him and greystillplays
The connected storage containers fill up from the last one to the first. imagine pouring water to a bottle with a hose to another one and so on. Water flows down to the last one and slowly fills up.
Foliage removed via the chainsaw or nobelisks (explosives) won't grow back; stuff pulled up by hand will. Though the more trees and such you (permanently) remove, the beefier the save file gets as it tracks every tree, shrub, and blade of grass... It's why my save files and load times are... excessive? large? some word like that... I usually play in the Northern Forest biome and well... deforest with extreme prejudice.
well the tornado is in the steam preview is youre on the satisfactory side so it is exactly one of the things that advertise the game ... at least it was back when i bought it
It still is i just looked
7:26 No, in fact the only way to get them back is modding, also it used to, not sure if it still does, but it used to atleast cause severe loading/saving time increases. 10:15 Nope, still no creative mode, none of the videos Josh has on Satisfactory are from when creative mode has been out, so all of them have been fully manually done, no creative mode for him. 30:13 Game broke, simple as that, it couldnt handle the velocity he got and it just freezes, still happens if you stack enough of them
Well, now we need to do that IRL
there is a resource called alien organs but you can set wildlife to non hostile which i did. there is a kind of creative mode which you have to activate before loading a save - then your save only ever uses it. its more an advanced settings. i think it lets you remove build costs, and not need power etc. i think? its a while since i played update 8 im sure someone else probably answered that. but i doubt josh will ever use it. he works without using such modes in order to get the resources. his streams (i hear) show him in real time spending tens of hours working for a 20 second gag for the video.i expect he leaves it going to sleep and let the resources replenish.
Plants for the most part don't respawn.
Berries and Nuts do, as they leave a stalk behind
It's an automation game, once you set it up to create bombs, you could have more than you'll ever need.
yes, you still can put things into the rock, but i myself only try that with foundations, never tested the hub or anything larger
the "how long do bombs take to make" question i answered already on your last video
4:16
My gosh? Orrr, my Josh....
This "Pro" is asking questions that would be incredibly good to know about for people first starting the game. Like do the animals drop resources needed to progress the game? They're available to kill immediately after starting so how does a pro not know. And do the trees grow back? This is something I feel anyone chopping trees would research, especially a pro. Don't put "Pro" in the title if you haven't even played the game before.
26:50 yes, absolutely :D
you should play it there is in the mountains nordish a nice forrest with red trees and south is everything fungi themed it feels then really alien like.
Layers of rocks arent put there for stopping people going outside map. Usualy devs create bunch of rocks and stones. But it is never enough to fill whole map with unique structures. So they take those that they have, change size and angle and mix together. So for example you have some cliff. And this one cliff is build from 4 different rocks duplicate 3 times each, and each of them is turn in way that you dont see that is just a copy.
When he look at parts departure he used zoom option probably from photomode.
You should watch his next video of how he got rid of all the nuclear waste
Since you said you read all comments, the good, the bad and the ugly, here's a comment that has all of those in one:
The good: Next episode is his best episode ever.
The bad: Next episode is his best episode ever
The ugly: That's the episode where he earns his title of psychopath.
Nice 👍
if you want to stress test your game get josh from lets game it out to play it lol
bombs are to my knowledge the only "throwable" thing, although since this video we got a bit more types of bombs
Hyper tubes are for boys, Hyper canons are for men 😂
The tornado actual did put me on to satisfactory
Josh Would use a free cam mod for some of the shots
The animals can be used in the M.A.M for researching new stuff
i see it now "pro"
This person gets the joke ❤️
16:39 why does gray make so many OSHA violations? Like, what does he have against OSHA?
I would love it if you reacted to any other of letsgameitout videos for example hydroneer (but it doesn't have to be that)
The Satisfactory devs added Lets Game It Outs video to the satisfactory website
I was expecting a cool beard so left before watching
TLDR: animal remains are worth it.
AWSOME Shop needs animal remains, or what you can make out of animal remains, first you can turn all the different remains, Hog, Spitter, Hatcher and the lil ant guys into protein, from protein you can craft DNA capsules and get a LOT of awesome tickets for them. I believe they are the best conversion of resources to AWESOME tickets, at least early on. You get more AWESOME tickets based on the complexity of things you feed into it, for example, copper wire is made from copper bars and it gives you 2 for every 1 copper bar. Something later on would use a complex equation of higher end materials would be worth a lot more in the AWESOME sink because that's just how it works. TLDR: animal remains are worth it.
Plants regrow near trees if you leave trees I think but trees don't regrow is my current understanding of it.
Hi goodbeard, im gamingtastic if u remember me from a long time ago ❤🎉
New subscriber...I noticed that You had a Cubs shirt on. I'm In Lakeview area.
no idea why the bombs didnt work either, maybe because the car itself moved due to the explosions.
the good episode
10:16 ... While there is pretty much always ways to cheat in resources into games whether that be through console commands, turning on and off mods to make buildings free when on and cost resources while off, or just flat out cheat engine hex editing the items and so can have infinite resources without it being obvious still the time to set up all the items would still take many many hours even with infinite resources. So yes it defiantly takes a very very long time to build the crazy things he builds, resource wise there is always a way to make it so resources don't need collected or so they are infinite. Even with cheated resources it is still extremely impressive how long it would take to get that all set up.
Soo many questions... Bro, take a couple of hours and play this game. You'll enjoy it soo much
Probably just because as the driver you are part of the cab that doesn't get destroyed
yeah i don't know 22 hours is pretty much a short session for him^^
