At other end of the spectrum, if Logan Paul would have showed the dead body of somebody with a relatable story of depression or social anxiety, what the victim was obviously going through, the idea of this video would have had a bigger impact on people's reaction. Story telling really is important, that's why the biggest company in the world, Apple, is marketing their products toward the culture instead of the technological specs. And people keep on buying the same product every two years while Microsoft just annonce the end of the Nokia Lumia phones (most innatives phones on the current market). Story telling is important.

Girl, Fenty Beauty?? One of the first makeup brands to actually seem to care about the inclusion of dark skinned black woman in their products? This isn’t revolutionary and there’s been many times in the makeup industry when many people were emotionally connected to a launch. Two rich white guys releasing a decent eyeshadow palette is nothing new. The only difference is that they baited young people with a 6-hour long commercial.

I assume because his products wouldn't sell as good anymore.

They actually just made colors that Shane wanted to create and that resonated with his TH-cam life. That's what a lot of people fail to see. It's not about the "color story line" it's Shane's colors. I love this pallete and all of the colors are perfectly wearable if you know how to use make up. (no need to go over board either)
And many of these people don't need to buy it if they don't want to. It's their choice. I personally think that Shane did a really good job at placing and thinking of the colors because those are fun to play with and mix on different occasions and such. It's a whole new adventure
Because people are so used to have certain palettes stuffed up under their noses. People are used to the same old boring pink toned, brown toned (or any colour for that matter) palettes that have pretty much the same shades. And suddenly Shane comes out with (stunning might I add) palette and people are like "OH NO! NONE OF THE SHADES COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER! THERE ARE NO FIVE BROWNS! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO MY MAKEUP?" People are so spoiled by having entire looks served up to them in the form of a palette that they forgot how to use their own brain and creativity.
I think the actual choice of colors was fine but the layout is what made it seem messy/ugly. Like the first row was set up well but I think the other two should have been rearranged to go from light to dark or least bright to brightest or something. Considering how big of a deal Shane made over jeffree’s “talent” for arranging palettes in the series, i would like to see it arranged better
True story: My sister wanted to buy the conspiracy pallete. But like everyone else , she was waiting cuz the website crahsed. BUT she got it in the cart. And after 4hrs it was shiped. I think she was REALLY lucky. Edit: why 2.5k likes? (this is the most likes I've ever had)

Same here. Was waiting and clicking on the website for 2 hrs and the site said it was ordered. Later paypal processed it and then almost 5 hrs later I got confirmation from JFS team on my mail. Since there are so many packages to be shipped, if you are out of USA (like me) you will be waiting some days since the traffic is horrid. Jeffree said shipping centers have been working overtime and all we can do is trust his words.
After a LONG time of refreshing and adding to cart mine finally processed and within minutes i got the confirmation email. I bought 2 one is for my sister for Christmas 😜. received my pallets on wends 11/6. so i got REALLY lucky. I live in Illinois.
I'm not sure if that's how many they sold in one day. That would mean that 1 in every 300 Americans bought a palette. It's possible over time but IDK I'm skeptical.

Well as it turned out from today's episode the actual number was 410,000 palettes which was the only real number they gave in the end. That only 40% of the 1 million palettes they hyped and since restock is aimed for 6 months from now I would think they NEVER had 1 million to sell. So yeah still skeptical.

And not all 1.1 mil were on the Jeffree Star site, there were other retailers (Morphe, Beauty Bay, Beauty Lish) and physical Morphe stores too. So a million is not a stretch. Countries besides the USA exist...
I’m actually studying business which will be my life and I got to know Jeffree through these series and I honestly respect him and Shane so much. I didn’t buy the makeup cause It’s not my thing but I loved the series.
He’s a genius and yup, people is so easily fooled. They’ll buy like sheep whatever. Even when Shane has zero experience on makeup and Jefree is the less talented everything because Shane is a great story teller and is a natural business man.

@@moonshatter785 There's I believe only one color in that palette that is the same as the larger one, which is a light brown shade called 'Diet Root Beer', which makes sense as it could be a blending or transition shade. Other than that, all the other colors are different.
We Stan, buy the new morphe one instead. It has similar colours but they hands down look hella better. No shade to James, I just find the new one better 😅

Joy Kitten Loves Cats well the series isn’t over. The fact people were buying it at astronomical markups and mad at reviewers GETTING REVIEW PRODUCTS! Shows how whiny these generations are. They bought extra bandwidth. They made millions of products that legit filled the WAREHOUSE’S so they did absolutely everything in their power to prevent what happened. My personal experience: after about two hours of waiting, I was able to "place my order". I never received a confirmation email, I couldn't look at my account to see my order history and customer service didn't get back to me for hours. The money was taken from my bank account then put back in a couple hours later, then customer service told me that if I hadn't received my email yet my order wasn't placed and I wouldn't receive it. I ended up ordering the mini, but it was seriously such a disappointment, being told I had it then hours later having it taken away from me.
You are by far the most articulate when it comes down to video graphics and commentary. You have done all your research and include info that I wouldn't find on TH-cam ( Este Lauder) .
This kind of marketing strategy is not new. In korea fir instance, when a new kpop group is formed by big companies , they would create a series of reality tv that shows the forming and perfecting of the idols , who along the way develop a fanbase before even debuting!!! Or a while after debut, And it is OLD!!!! LIKE in the 90s old... there was JYP's group shinhwa and then later YG's bigbang, SM's super junior, and more recently 101, AOA, and it is still ongoing. It is genius, but not their invention, but genius nonetheless 😊

The 3 hrs in the 4hrs was spend mostly on them fixing the site, Shane freaking out and fans freaking out.
Yeah in Australia our Morphe site didn’t crash, and the collection sold out in less than 10 minutes!

Jeffree said the million palettes sold out in 30 minutes, and the rest of the time was people checking out I think 2000 per minute, which is insane.

I think the actual choice of colors was fine but the layout is what made it seem messy/ugly. Like the first row was set up well but I think the other two should have been rearranged to go from light to dark or least bright to brightest or something. Considering how big of a deal Shane made over jeffree’s “talent” for arranging palettes in the series, i would like to see it arranged better

Same here. Was waiting and clicking on the website for 2 hrs and the site said it was ordered. Later paypal processed it and then almost 5 hrs later I got confirmation from JFS team on my mail. Since there are so many packages to be shipped, if you are out of USA (like me) you will be waiting some days since the traffic is horrid. Jeffree said shipping centers have been working overtime and all we can do is trust his words.
After a LONG time of refreshing and adding to cart mine finally processed and within minutes i got the confirmation email. I bought 2 one is for my sister for Christmas 😜. received my pallets on wends 11/6. so i got REALLY lucky.

Well as it turned out from today's episode the actual number was 410,000 palettes which was the only real number they gave in the end. That only 40% of the 1 million palettes they hyped and since restock is aimed for 6 months from now I would think they NEVER had 1 million to sell.
So yeah still skeptical.

And not all 1.1 mil were on the Jeffree Star site, there were other retailers (Morphe, Beauty Bay, Beauty Lish) and physical Morphe stores too. So a million is not a stretch. Countries besides the USA exist...
Their concept for the series and launch is one of the best things I’ve seen online in a while. I love it when people break the mold.

@@moonshatter785 There's I believe only one color in that palette that is the same as the larger one, which is a light brown shade called 'Diet Root Beer', which makes sense as it could be a blending or transition shade. Other than that, all the other colors are different.
We Stan, buy the new morphe one instead. It has similar colours but they hands down look hella better. No shade to James, I just find the new one better 😅

I had a confrontation within a few minutes of ordering, a ready to dispatch one a couple days later, a shipped message the day after, then a message on the day it was be info delivered. They bought extra bandwidth. They made millions of products that legit filled the WAREHOUSE’S so they did absolutely everything in their power to prevent what happened. If anyone is upset about any of these things then their fucking stupid and don’t deserve the money they have to spend. Why do I feel like you got one andrei?
My personal experience: after about two hours of waiting, I was able to "place my order". I never received a confirmation email, I couldn't look at my account to see my order history and customer service didn't get back to me for hours. The money was taken from my bank account then put back in a couple hours later, then customer service told me that if I hadn't received my email yet my order wasn't placed and I wouldn't receive it. I ended up ordering the mini, but it was seriously such a disappointment, being told I had it then hours later having it taken away from me.
You are by far the most articulate when it comes down to video graphics and commentary. You have done all your research and include info that I wouldn't find on TH-cam ( Este Lauder) .
