When we were looking for mortgages before PR many banks did not give mortgage with out PR. We were with HSBC they didn't. So we waited till PR . Around the time we just bought our home some changes were happening and some banks started giving mortgages
Probably thats why people would have said you need PR.

Lease hold always comes with certain period of years. Under lease hold 2 kind of properties comes 1. Flat and 2. Massionate.
Massionate always comes with long lease even 999 years. Flat normally comes with 125-250 years , depends on which year it built, new builds and nearly new builds comes with 125-250 years lease. In this lease property there will be lease charges , including ground rent and service charge. Ground rent will be yearly and service charge will be monthly. But both are definite for these properties. massionate can be exceptional from these prices , depends.
