what they missed in the original is each of pacmans friends got taken away by their respective worlds they're found in.

Maybe it’s just me never playing this game before, but I think the remaster is better than the original.
Tbh I prefer the original because it’s just more dramatic, funny, and expressive compared to the remake, and I also like that the original involves most of the bosses as well, so they aren’t just random obstructing monsters we face in the adventure, they’re the very kidnappers along with the ghosts

@@ReyvanLatino and I also prefer how everything flows in the original, as well as the more show don’t tell approach it had, up until we get to the ghost party, where the situation needs more explaining because it got more complex with Toc-Man’s plan of posing as Pac-Man, and the mixup the ghosts had with Ms. Pac-Man

I'm honestly more nostalgic to the original opening, but I'm still looking forward to this. It just feels weird without Pac-Man's dramatic screaming voice lol. That's the one thing that got me nostalgic to the original until today tbh

I love how reopening Pac-Man didn’t scream but the og yelled “NooOOOOoooOoo” in the most gravel voice he can make.
It’s sad they didn’t really stay true to the original in the remake… In the original it made sense why all characters were in their respective worlds…. The dog gets taken by a mummy and is in the mummy world, the grandpa gets abducted by aliens and is in space, etc etc. In repac they just get captured, they could shuffle them around and nobody would notice.
I think repac is a great game, but the original had alot of charm in the cutscenes which is taken out. Still a amazing remake and alot of fun to play tho.

The originale looks way better, not only because it's CGI, but the camera work and animations are far better. Also in the original everyone Is captured by the different bosses, so It gave a sneak peak to what's to come in the game.

As much I loved the original game and cut scenes, I would say this one makes better sense. To man ordered his henchmen to capture his friends and family, while he wanted pacman captured as well.

Though the ghosts remained dumb, they were told to kidnap Pac-Man, and in both stories they just kidnapped a look alike at his house and called it done, only this time they were the only ones doing all the work, so now they're kidnapping every Pac-Man-like they find xd

Hope they at least let Pac-Man enjoy his party his time, the original just ends with Pac-Man chomping Orson with a Power Pellet, it felt like it was lacking a proper finale tbh
I wanna imagine they're gonna try and reimplement Pac-Man trying to cheer Orson up with something akin to the scrapped "I like you Orson" line from the concept storyboards right before eating him. (Or, being spoken in Wakka-ese if they are still too afraid to give the character a voice after Ghostly Adventures' negative reception)

El Original tiene la ventaja de ese CGI que se usa para las escenas.
Mientras que con Re-Pac se está usando el motor del juego, como fue para el remake de Klonoa 1/2.
Pero debo de aplaudir que Re-Pac le agregara más "contexto" a la historia. Pues al final me gustan ambas, sirven para su respectiva función que es iniciar el juego.
El Pac-Man Museum + que salio hace poco nos predijo que saldría este remake por el modelo 3D de Pac-Man

I hope they rehire Martin T. Sherman for the sequels. Casting Thomas the Tank Engine as Pac-Man was a stroke of genius.
En el Repac reciclaron algunas canciones del intro. E incluso nos explicaron porque los fantasmas tomaron a los pacs equivocados.
Prefiero que reciclen a qué hagan nuevas canciones, porque las originales son obras maestras.

The thing I missed the most in the new intro was Pac-Man crumpling up the paper, when I was little that was the coldest shit ever and it still kinda is. He’s doesn’t know what the hell just happened but the second he sees any evidence that it was the ghosts he gets all pissed and crumples up the flier. The new Pac-Man isn’t giving me the “so *those* fuckers did this” feeling that he did in the old intro

I'm not gonna lie I prefer the original seems more indepth for (1999) as to where for a (2022) cutscene seems lack luster and it has no voice actors like the original.

La verdad me gusta el intro del remake, dejando de lado el diseño de pacmom, se ve bastante genial y ademas se que reciclaron la canción del intro aunque tiene unas nuevas para complementarla, hay una gran diferencia con respecto al original, ya que en el original, la familia es capturada por cada uno de los jefes del juego, pero en el remake se muestra que los fantasmas son los que capturan a la familia pacman por confundirlo con su héroe. Algo cómico y con algo de sentido ya que Toc-Man creyó que habían capturado al original, pero al final resultó ser a toda la familia.
Las 2 intros, a diferencia de muchísimos otros juegos de varias franquicias, están igual de buenas y bien hechas, manteniendo ese toque para nuevas generaciones, si reciclan soundtracks y canciones estaré feliz, porque hay veces en las que hacer algo nuevo es mucho peor que reciclar algo que ya es perfecto.

I gotta say, the original is way better in more ways then one. However, one detail I love most about the original that is missing in the new one is how Pac-Mac crumples up the flier for the ghost party. The new one almost feels like he takes and goes, "Ah ha! I knew! I need to hurry and save my family!" Meanwhile, the original felt like he was confused, almost scared and seemingly losing hope, but seeing the flier, he knows who did all this and a fire inside got lit. It feels like if they panned to his face, he would be gritting his teeth, anger flaring up in his eyes, ready to charge in full steam. Even the fact he tries shaking it off his nose before yanking it off, almost tossing it aside. Its a small detail, but it helps add personality to a character.
True. All those feelings are better exposed in the original.

Im really getting sick of those remakes toning down the cutscenes for some reason.
The remake has done a lot of things better than the original from what I've seen, this is not one of those.
However, I like them explaining why they kidnapped them instead of Pac-Man.
I get the idea of the new opening, and sure it's more coherent, but the original is just better overall, with each member kidnapped in a creative way that directly involves the areas we get to explore later.

I don't hate the new opening, it just sucks that we'll never really see that level of charm of old game limitations and ps1 era graphics again, even indie games made to look retro don't really capture the essence. The remake otherwise looks fantastic and I'm not mad about it

Considering that is a remake I think Namco didn't worry about spoilers but for new players, they should have.
Its sad they didn't use the old version it got personality and its dark with a hint of fun in it
And it moved very well, even if it's clunky by "modern" standards.
You can truly feel they wanted to make this game a love letter to Pac Man, whereas this "Remaster" simply strips the personality while only polishing it graphically.
Nowadays, Dark is Reversed for M rated games.
When I saw the original as a kid, I felt genuinely sorry for Pacman when he came home, and saw that his family was kidnapped and his reaction to it.

One thing worth noting is the music is the same for both. However, the score was written for the original sequence, so as a result a lot of the musical cues don't hit as hard.
The intro for the new one feels like a Mobile Game ad.
Freaking pissed they took out the _HRAAAaaAOGGH_ and the fist shake.
Fortunately, they kept the rest of the music.
@@ReyvanLatino yeah, I was impressed by how accurate a lot of the songs sounded. Unfortunately for me though, my favorite Ghostly Garden was when they dropped the ball. It sounds like either a prototype version of the track or a cover of the in-game done by ear.
The pad and the guitar are missing from it, and the melody features both a wrong note and different articulation than the original (the short harpsichord solo phrase before the B section uses staccato instead of legato).
They also made the rookie mistake of thinking Gimme Space and Far Out are the same track lol
Now you can't have a Dad Character getting Angry or Sad in a Video Game, He might get a Stroke or Heart Attack.

I feel like this based on something on the wii because this type of ps1 cutscene is just klonoa in that the personality and faster paste is not really in the remake. But I do think they do a good job for the remake but wish they could have done a little bit more just like klonoa.

Man Idk why but this scene of Pacman yelling use to devastate me as a kid. I felt so bad for pac man and it use to make me feel sad when I was young. I had to skip this scene back then because it was too much for me lmao

I still vastly prefer the original opening as well. Like most people have already stated, it just has more charm and personality that Re-Pac's version really lacks. The next scene from the original is great, too, where Toc-Man is complaining about his party. it is a shame they didn't give the Ghosts or Toc-Man any voices in Re-Pac. I didn't care for the gibberish speak.
I do recall the original's intro making me really uneasy as a kid since you're wondering what is going on with all the Pac-nappings.😅

Realmente me gusta que el juego vaya a tener su remake y toda la cosa pero la intro no me convence del todo, digo seguro que el juego va a estar bueno tal y como el original pero la intro del Original sin dudas es más seria a comparación de esta, pero eso es tal vez por que también supongo que como el juego se ve un poco más "inocente" (?) podría ser que le den ese toque alegre en lugar de hacerlo algo "oscuro" aunque sí se me hace ridículo como capturan a la familia de Pac Man y sí hace falta aunque sea las voces, fuesen o no muy importantes o expresivas hacen falta, tal vez sí hubiesen combinado la intro de este con el original hubiese salido bastante bien, ya que te dan la razón de por que los fantasmas se confundieron sobre quien era el Pac Man real y le daría ese toque d moderno, pero en sí el juego creo que aún mantendrá su esencia
Muy cierto, aparentemente su jugabilidad no se ha visto tan afectada como en esta intro pero definitivamente no era necesario hacerle tantos cambios.

no esta mal el remeake pero la captura del profesor pacman es bastante torpe la verdad,quedaba mejor siendo capturado por el rey galaxian,tambien el hecho de que pacman volviera del trabajo y no gritara le quita impacto pero habra que ver la segunda parte cuando va a ghost island
otro detalle que no me gusto fue que los fantasmas no tuvieran voces,en lo personal no me gusta eso porque me recuerda mucho a la saga "new" de super mario con los personajes simplemente haciendo ruidos como "yahooo wehee yahaha" lo cual puede llegar a ser molesto,ya veo a tocman tambien solo haciendo ruidos en vez de tener su voz robotica y algo intimidante como en el original

The original had an unique charm to itself and you knew who took who in the opening scenes. The remake just makes things more streamlined and lacks the awareness of the original opening scenes.
