How to set/reset your own password for WordLock BikeLock CL-409-BL

Surprisingly this bike lock ( WordLock CL-409-BL Bike Lock ) didn't come with any instruction manual to set /reset password and also didn't have any default code/password or instruction in their website. So , just did a quick video showing how to do . Hope you guys find it useful! Leave a like if you found it to be useful.

The instructions actually are printed on the package, but tricky to find. They are on the inside of the cardboard 'wrap' that goes around the lock. Tear off one edge of the wrap and swing it open to see the instructions. It has some drawings too (Figures but I don't think I can add them to this comment). Apparently, they ruined their web site, and it no longer has the instructions. My instructions say SHED is the initial passcode, but some comments suggest it might have been TREE at one time.
Instructions:
1. Align dials to S-H-E-D between notches. Pull out lock post. (fig.1)
2. Rotate inner ribbed silver dial clockwise until it stops. (fig. 2)
3. The word "set" on silver dial should now be on top, aligned with S-H-E-D.
4. Rotate outer black dials so new word is aligned with notches. (fig 3)
5. Check your new word. Be sure dials are lined up properly.
6. Rotate inner silver dial counterclockwise until it arrives back at original position. (fig 4)
7. Reinsert post and scramble dials to lock.
Carefully write down the new password somewhere.
Note that this lock is not very secure. There are videos on TH-cam showing how to defeat the lock.
However, for some uses, it is fine.

I was just about to say "not mine" because mine appeared as a single round piece of cardboard, but then I noticed the rivets where the zip ties passed through to hold it on the cable so I ran my fingernail along the side of it and low and behold its double layered with the instructions printed on the inside. Thanks for the tip! Or at least re-posting what Robert said. I still emailed the company because I felt the site should have instructions, they are easy enough there's really no reason not too.

I just bought one a few weeks ago. I still have the instructions. The default is SHED. I worked out all the 4 letter standard word combinations. Comes to over 650. I never went to the website, which is supposed to have the full list.

I put the lock on my bike outside just for one day to make room for a bed delivery. When I went to open the lock with my remembered password it was totally jammed. Put lubricant on it, getting frustrated to cut it. Any others have that situation? I should have checked the lock first

I really like that it has a twisting lock feature to keep out dirt and debris. However, the mounting system is much too light for the lock, and continues to get loose/move around. It's mostly made of plastic parts, and I've had to tighten it a few times in the past week or so that I've had it. I'm worried that it's going to break off at some point while I'm riding. I'm considering just scrapping that part, but that would mean having to carry the heavy lock i my backpack and adding more weight. I wish I could have given this more stars, but without the mounting system, it's just another heavy lock that I have to cart around. UPDATE: Increased rating to 5 stars because the seller offered to provide a new lock and mounting system. Really appreciate the attention to customer service!!

I keep my bike indoors for obvious reasons. I am unsure if my karma is off, I usually have few issues when I used to ride my bike everywhere. It may have dust inside. Kept it in a bag indoors so it appeared to be OK to use. This makes me sad. It's raining now to add to my misfortune. I pray it will miraculously open. NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO!
