How does it compare to their IO Volare and more expensive IEMs. Does it really fight with the $1k sets? I am not a basshead, rather the opposite. I want melodious, something that brings out the emotions in music. What would you recommend?
It’s quite different. The dynaquattro is quite hard to drive properly and in terms of tuning I would say that the dynaquattro would be more of a traditional V shape. The Estrella on the other hand has a very distinct bass section and leans a little more fun and dynamic.
@@ManicMindTrick It’s by price category as well as it does not make sense. So that is ranked compared to other cheapies . It does not mean that it is as good as something in higher price tiers
Only you know. $40 more for one additional DD and quite a bit of bass, so different tuning. I might get the Estrella for the boosted bass for music though.
Ziigaat is now doing only $250 IEMs after a really good Nuo entry-level for $20. They will compare to the new Kiwi Ears KE4 and if they cost more, not compete well.
There's ALOT of discussion about these in Discord. However, I am all "earphone/headphoned-out" (meaning I own too much gear), so I'll give these a solid miss. Thanks for the review anyway, Kenneth! Reverend Dr. Thomas, The Vegan Vicar.
Doubters Burn-in is REAL, as just demonstrated. It's not getting used to a new/different set. (still only 7's totaling 35.5 in rating chart? what's up with that? Boo!)

Should have compared Estrella to Hype 4, same configurations 2DD + 4BA.
And davinci too

This is awesome!! I will definitely pick these up! I hope they are available on Amazon.

How similar is it to the Arete?
Great review, thanks! These look like my kind of set.
Great review! Really enjoyed it, thank you. Subbed!
I preordered this and the Deuce 😁
Same bro, really excited.
Thanks for the vid, Ted. Looking forward to getting my retail unit In. You sure stirred up the forums with your initial impressions 😅
@@MrDomq22 hahaha. This is one of those earphones that needs some time to get going.
@@SuperChonk fair enough - that happens sometimes and I appreciate you redoing your grading for the set. Jay also appreciates it as well 🫡
Hi! Estrella or Dusk? Both around 320€. Mainly listen sountracks music.
If it is soundtracks, I'd go with the Dusk. It is just a little better controlled.
The Estrella is better for genres that focus on heavier beats.
Can the Estrella be compared to the Dynaquattro or are the tunings just very different ?
It’s quite different.
The dynaquattro is quite hard to drive properly and in terms of tuning I would say that the dynaquattro would be more of a traditional V shape.
The Estrella on the other hand has a very distinct bass section and leans a little more fun and dynamic.
@@SuperChonk Thank you very much for the detailed clarification and thoughtful descriptions 😃
When I saw how you had ranked others this scored about the same as 7Hz Zero. Do you think these offer the same overall sound quality?

@@SuperChonk A suggestion is to make it clear that the score is price-adjusted and to rank them from best to worst. Right now it's kind of confusing.

Comparison to hype 4?
I'm a bit confused why/how you rated the mids over bass and treble on what you described as a V-shaped IEM 🤔
@@nmatheis Well. The rating describes the quality of each aspect rather than quantity.
@@SuperChonkGot it. So even though it's a u/v-shaped tuning, you think the mids are the star of the show.
@@nmatheis I think that the mids are better quality by comparison. It has more bass but delivers prettier mids.

Is the bass response subbass over midbass or the other way around?
