i’ve quit for over a year now, but i used to play bedwars for 4 years and played ranked bw for 2 years, and explaining how to start comboes and w tapping but especially the certain intricacies of rbw tactics is something i’ve never been able to do despite years of doing it basically on autopilot. so, huge props to you for not only having the confidence to try and explain it, but also explaining it very simply and smoothly
@@collarmc W tapping is a form of sprint resetting. It's existed since sprinting has existed. Beta version 1.8 - September 2011 It wasn't popularised until later
@@collarmc Which is likely to have happened sometime shortly after 2011 just not widely used until around 1.7 when vanilla Minecraft allowed you to bind a sprint key.
Damn. Concise, beautifully clear, with professional editing. From a classic godlike II: you are criminally underrated. I hope your channel blows up as much as it deserves!
This is one of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen, nice and straight to the point, with an easy to understand concept and didn’t make it overly complicated, I have been pvping for about 3 years now and even I get confused. You earned a brand new sub man! Keep up the great work and content!😊😊.
This is the tutorial I've been looking for for months but for control but it still worked for me. I hardly usually comment or leave my like but I think it deserves it.
Small Tip from a Bedrock player: In java sumo you can easily counter this by jump resetting the others first hit, which is jumping at the exact time as the other person hits you. That way you take close to 0 kb and you can continue trading, still having the first hit which then turns into your advantage again. If you jump to early though, it is likely that you will get way more kb than with a normal hit
Great video, only thing not mentioned is that after they hit you they slow down meaning they take more kb due to lack of momentum, whilst you got hit while going full speed. That's another reason just like the low ground on why you will follow with your own combo rather than get combod.
i knew about hit selecting but thought it was just some sort of placebo effect cuz all my friends said it worked but now that ik the actual mechanics behind it it makes a lot of sense (very good editing btw)
i had 80 bw wins before watching this video. 83 wins in years of playing. after watching this video, i doubles that in two days. my pvp is insanely better now. thank you so much
This a very high quality video and im shocked u dont even have 1k subs yet, u deserve way more than 1k subs anyways. keep up the good work or smthg lmao
Imma nerd out real quick because this is a subject I kinda care about. Hit selecting, in theory, is the best technique for starting combos… in theory. What holds hit selecting back from being the dominant pvp method is the other factors that have to be consistent in order for it to work effectively. For instance, hit selecting relies on the other players movement/knockback; which due to the variation in ping range of various opponents you’ll be put up against, will make it nearly impossible to time consistently. Not to mention that your aim must impeccable in order to hit select, otherwise someone can just get a 3 block hit, and combo you before you can hit them back. Also, spacing is a really huge factor in hit selecting because sometimes if you’re too close to the person you’re fighting, you can still get combed even if you get the 2nd hit. Overall, it’s more practical to try to start your combos from 3 blocks away rather than relying on someone else’s movement. Hit selecting can be best applied in games like sumo, but I would highly recommend that you don’t use it for every gamemode.
none of this is true, your skill level is just extremely low. hitselecting is the best pvp method by far because it makes it much easier to manipulate the hitsequence, leading to a combo
@@monumitv first off, that’s a very hurtful and very accurate assumption of my skill level. And maybe you misinterpreted my original comment, I stated that it was the best pvp method, so we agree on that. But the message I was trying to put across was that for many people, generally speaking, hitselecting might not be route to go because of other factors. You talked about manipulating hit-sequences, and while I agree that hitselecting is effective for this purpose, it lacks the level of consistency that regular 3block combo start would have. With my comment, I was simply trying to bridge the gap between people who skip to learning hitselect before learning how to perfect their aim and spacing (which would hinder the effectiveness of the technique.) If you know something that I may not be considering, please tell me, because I’m not exactly an expert in this but I think I’m at least on the right track.
@@Womanavoider you are contradicting yourself… according to you it is the best technique but you then stated “it is being held back from being the dominant pvp method”???? also, spacing will not effect the effectiveness of a hitselection of the hitselection is performed in a perfect way. if you only try to fight someone that is hitselecting and is properly timing their sprint reset and is manipulating the hitselection in an optimal way, you will lose. it is best to learn hitselection as it IS the best pvp technique
1:05 this also lets you gain control of movement faster letting you use your movement more effectively. the low ground advantage is actually so nuanced and little that it barely matters and will rarely actually be the cause of your combo. you move faster when you hit the ground first which means that on the second hit, if you trade at the same time you'll take far less kb from being faster and having more momentum and if you manage to get a hit earlier you can properly distance and strafe to keep the combo going. all this doesn't really matter though because you can counter it really easily in any gamemode other than sumo
The biggest reason this method is effective is due to the half second of immunity from damage that results in being able to start the combo, and what you said above.
Watched this as a refresher, and to see how good this would be as a video lol. but this is done amazingly! very good, also only 371 subs? i think that will change soon.
I deduced that this was possible when I was younger, but I was never an expert in pvp or anything like that. I am happy that my theory from years ago is correct.
This is definitely explained ay better than most videos I’ve seen and side comment I also think hitselecting works because you can hit them before they hit u n a trade if done correctly will result in easy comboes
for those wanting to understand why it works, he stated "low ground advantage" a lot, that is simply using a math principle to get your opponents eyes farther from the tip of your body than yours. You are closer to them than they are to you, so you are able to hit them without them hitting you.
this has been self learned and kept secret on the lowest of the low between each individual for years now and youve shown it to the public without letting them find it out themselves. the council shall decide your fate soon
There is a method to combat this. HIt selecting is effective if in the first 2 or 3 hits of a trade, you gain that low ground advantage and take less kb than your opponent. But what if your opponent didnt move enough to combo and instead you entered a normal trade (albeit a slightly delayed one because you delayed your initial hit). Then the opponent can take advantage of the reduction of kb and counter combo you :)
@@Turtleblade This is because knock back is tied to your sprint AND your weapon cool down in 1.9+. If you hit earlier into your cool down you deal less knock back. It would have the same effectiveness for what it's meant to do (which is not low-ground advantage but actual hit timing) it's just harder in 1.9+.
a perfect hit selection cannot be countered. if the hit selection starts a trade instead of an instant combo you already have the upper hand in the hitsequence and if you manipulate it right, you can always end up with a combo
Imagine two dudes using the same technique. They both start running at each other waiting to get hit first, and it just turns into a staring contest
it actually happens more than u think
