I saw him live last year for the very first time with A Perfect Circle in Berlin. I went to a lot of concerts over the last 15 years and I've never seen a better vocal performance, honestly. He nailed every song, not a single mistake or missing tone.

Masterpiece! Plain and simple. One of my top 5 Tool songs for sure (I can say that with confidence.. must've listened to it about 20 times now). I dig the new mature sound. Probably because I'm maturing like a moldy cheese myself. God! Can... not...wait... for this album.

I also think this does not sound like they'll reach new dimensions anymore (hopefully I'm wrong). But like you said, nobody stays on top forever. Just wait till this song is polished, every time I watch a different version of this song I can hear it evolving, becoming what it's supposed to be,that's why I'm glad they only play two new songs so far,it's a sight to behold!

Yay!! So happy for you. :) Not everyone gets Tool but people should. They are incredible live and I've been fortunate to see them 4x and the 5th will be at Aftershock in October. I've seen a lot of shows in my life and so far nobody comes close.
Maynard has an awesome vocal range.... He has developed the melodic part of it instead of the angry one, but when it gets heavy it surprises again. Perfect

I saw tool the first time they played any song from 10,000 days @ Coachella 2006. Saw them 3 more times after, the last time being 2010. Not sure how I feel about these 2 new songs. There’s a few brief parts I like in Invincible as well as decending, but nothing huge that’s stolen my heart. I’m not complaining but I do hope there’s some better material on the album.

Exactly what the other guy said. All the crazy dances and movements he did in the early days up until 2002 required hip replacement. If he moves in a certain way drastically, the rod that’s located in his hip and somewhat in his femur will pop right out. We’re lucky we still get some movement even though it’s barely any, not that it matters because it doesn’t change how phenomenal *T00L* is live.

Lucas Marangoni - new song performance and he always appears pretty expressionless. On the other hand, MJK seemed more animated then usual.
Underwhelming sections 8:49 -10:29 .....sure the chugging part is cool. But for most of that section is missing something musically to keep it interesting. Then suddenly we are lead in to the next section without any great build up making the part after 10:29 come off as random. Also this song needed some rock screams.
keep in mind that this is live, and they could have all sorts of shit going on in the studio version to keep it interesting.
