Fascinating presentation. Great insight on just how narrow the waterway is between the Kopas battery and Oskarsborg. It could definitely be described as “close quarters combat”. I really appreciated the parts of the story being told from the various vantage points. Great narration!! Thank you Morten and Gry!
Thank you, Nick, for your comment, revealing a great interest in the story of Oscarsborg. This is very motivating for us, we are currently planning to go ahead with new videos. All the best from Gry and Morten.
@@PUAlum Thank you so much for watching the video and posting this nice comment, we really appreciate that! All the best from Morten and Gry, Oscarsborg museums🌺
What a fantastic and fascinating video, a story told with great passion and knowledge. There's a lesson as well. Don't mess with the descendents of vikings when they are defending their homes and king. Thank you for this excellent video.
Thank you for your very kind and positive feedback. We hope you’ll find time to visit us, Oscarsborg is pretty much today as it was when it all happened in 1940🌺
I hope to visit the Oscarsborg fortress and all the museums in the near future. The sinking of The Blücher is such a fascinating chain of events and one of my favorites in WWII history.
Thank you for taking interest in the story and Oscarsborg. Be sure to order a tour with one of our authorized guides when you come, Morten Svinndal is one of them. Welcome!
Thank you for your positive feed back! We at Oscarsborg museums have 19 guides working for us, all authorized thoroughly. They all do their utmost to tell the exciting story of Oscarsborg the best way possible, with all the details and insight they have. Welcome back🌺
Great video, I hope you make more in the future! I highly recommend the movie "Kongens nei" / "The King's choice". It has a epic scene from this battle.
«The King’s Choice» has a very short sequence from the battle of the Drøbak Narrows. I like the part with the searchlight and the cruiser emerging from the fog. The part covering the situation in the Main battery is however not correct.
Muchas gracias - thank you so much for watching the video and posting this positive comment, we really appreciate that! All the best from Morten and Gry, Oscarsborg museums🌺🌺
Thank You,I was born only a few years after War 11 and met many adults as a child who always spoke well of the Norwegian Forces. In many parts of The Highlands of Scotland, ' The Norwegian Boys' were well remembered. Sadly I am to old now to visit your museum,I would love to. The area too, looks fabulous !
When it comes to making films, we are amateurs. But, we know the story about Oscarsborg, and during the covid shut down we chose this channel to reach people. Thank you for watching! Best wishes from Gry and Morten.
I am no expert on German, English or Norwegian. But title quote "The Blücher" seem very much of. I would expect "Der", "Die" or "Das Blücher". Do we have an expert in chat or at Oscarsborg Musser?? (which I believe should have capital M in "Museer" in thier YT name)
Hi and thank you for your questions. As this video is in English, we chose to let the title reflect that and write the "Blücher" also in English. Oscarsborg museer is written with a small m in the second word. Most places both names are written in capitals. But when we write it with both large and small letters, the correct way to write it is Oscarsborg museer.
I don't see any thanks to Sweden or any gratitute towards the swedish people for winning WW2 without participating. Norway should thank us for making the war go away!
Folks, a very heartfelt thank you from Canada for that superb description of a famous and important world event!! Greatly appreciated.

The video is somewhat amateurish (sorry!), but still gives a detailed, comprehensive account of Norway's “moment of glory” in World War II.
