I watched this video several times, you and I can’t see it but I suspect the passenger was shitting in his pants when uncle YS was doing about 200km/hr in that car on not so straight road…😂 VW should hire uncle YS as their ambassador. I bought a Tiguan few years ago after watching uncle YS drove a Tiguan up Genting, I did not regret that buy, now I am buying a GTI mk8 after watching him drive again. I won’t be able to drive like him, but I know the GTI can take a good bashing and easily put a smile on the driver face.

this is by far the fastest Uncle YS have drove. Surprised on how the car handle the turn. The handling is something else
Hello from Canada. This video could not come at a better time. I just placed an order for a Mark 8 GTi today and it will be arriving from Germany between July to August. It looks just like this one in the video except it has 19 inch wheels and it’s in Dolphin Grey. Thanks for showing the prowess, capability and how confident inspiring this car is when it’s pushed close to it’s limits. Great video and excellent job.

At 15:50 that corner VW Golf really handle it well compared to other car , really predictable and very good power in climbing. More to fun weekend drive and performance race.

after seen uncle khong test the new golf gti ，superb performance and handling on hot hatch but suspension setup little bit stiff like i30n . my conclusion is still like on more for megane rs280. Finally see uncle khong so happy enjoying the drive and thank you for uncle khong test drive video.

Just shy of 200 km/h. But uncle YS Khong your driving that make me rewind many times. The top hill climb, you just hit the corner with ease and it seems you are so confident with car. For Uncle YS - screeching sound means not a good feedback
You need to be as one with the car. The car becomes part of you and you can feel every bit of grip, every bit of slip. And you know exactly what the car is doing every moment.
First time i see uncle push the car in the beast mode, very best. 👍

看了大叔用mk7.5和mk8跑山的视频，速度差别好大！感觉上像是两台完全不同的车。马来西亚版mk8的虽然减配严重，没有雾灯没有一切辅助驾驶，但有一颗evo4就已经值回所有了。中国版的还只是evo3😭

Uncle, if u were to choose between golf GTI mk8 and golf r mk8, which would you choose?
It depends on which one I can afford. Definitely the R is faster and handles better on account of the AWD. If you can afford the R, go for it. If not the GTi is also a great car.
In terms of driving, the GTi is more engaging: the R needs a higher level of skill to master, and is very easy to drive. In other words, the R has a much higher limit, and most drivers will never ever reach that limit.
The DSG reminds me of the Sirocco R that I used to drive

Got mine last week. Some say it’s bumpy especially in comfort mode, and yes, quite bumpy. Maybe Malaysian roads getting worse?

Have not seen the new BRZ, so at least for now, it's the Golf. But one is FWD and one is RWD so they are very different cars. I want both.

Mine is a 7, but upgraded to 319 hp, 450Nm torque, so is faster. Also on 19 inch wheels.

The ride seems stiff. It's much more supple in comfort mode?
You dont want it any softer, believe me.
Maybe the road was very bad due to flood. Because even the Civic FE Uncle drove not long ago, it was shaking and rocking like this Golf but looks more pliant. I think if this Golf set to Comfort mode, it might be as pliant as Civic. Speaking of the damaged road, even Camry Uncle drove was quite bumpy and ride was busy. So when one of the most comfortable cars in this world rode "bumpy", that shows how terribly damaged the roads are
When the DCC is set to comfort, it is quite comfy considering our roads and the Potenza S005 225/40R18 tyres. For the run, it was set to sport, with just the right amount of stiffness.
@@MunwaiCheaw Quite comfy only is it? 🤔🤔🤔 As I recall, MK7/.5 was really plush and pliant. Maybe should toggle the individual suspension tuning and push to the EXTREME COMFORT.
stiff ride is all you need for genting run. roads in genting are quite damaged now not smooth like how it used to be. still better than ipoh roads tho

I think the Megane would have a bit more grunt, but handling definitely belongs to the GTi
looks like handles better thana RWD car?
It is quite neutral, and the electronic locked diff makes a lot of difference, really gives good grip on exit, and no wheelspin.
