20/42 - Links Park: Montrose FC

20/42 - Links Park, Montrose FC, 19/1/19: We were in Angus today for the Scottish Cup 4th round match between Montrose and Dundee United. Links Park is the venue for ground number 20 of our tour and the club helpfully sorted us out with stand tickets earlier in the week. The visitors ran out deserved 4-0 winners and the home side offered little throughout in truth. We, however, loved our day at the home of The Gable Endies. A hassle free entry experience brought us straight to the well stocked club shop and a pin badge was duly purchased. At £4 though it’s one of the most expensive of the tour so far! Onto the food offering then and it’s 10/10 for the Montrose pie! Absolutely delicious. We wanted a second! We had a great view of the action from high up in the main stand. Other options were covered terracing to our left or open air terracing opposite and to the right which today housed the away fans. The home fans continued to encourage their team, despite the obvious gulf in class, today which is always what we love to hear. After the goalless draw at Falkirk it was great to see some goals today and we left Links Park having really enjoyed our day.
