I'm so in love with this track. From the instrumentation side there is a straight connection from the Technodelic/BGM-Twin through/over Bamboo Houses to the Furyo-Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence-OST.
The handclaps, the drums, the prophet-5-"flute" (also the background-"droning"-sound in the "pause"-parts of the song at 2:27 for example).
This is and was a masterpiece of songwriting !
RIP.....Ryuichi...and thanks for enrichening my life with music for over 4 decades 😢

This was my youth, living near Frankfurt and spending my nights at the Cookys night club. Wonderful it was.

This could so easily have come straight off the ‘Tin Drum’ album. A fantastic track. Is that Steve Jansen on the drums? One of the finest drummers in the business.

I don't think this track has a drummer on it, it's just a drum machine. I agree about Steve being an amazing drummer though.
Everybody is right here: it was a Linn drum machine programmed by Steve Jansen.
Everybody's wrong. There are real drums and percussion (marimba) on this track, combined with programmed drums (the clap is obviously from the linn drum).

Anyone who dislikes this video are obviously trolls, have no appreciation for music production, or have some political bent. Sylvian is one lucky MF for getting to work with RS, one of the greatest. We are blessed to be living during this moment.
