I genuinely thought this was a video from the official F1 channel! Amazing job! Thanks for making this ;)
I was thinking, have they coped Matt's modern graphics idea.
Oh my god! I thought that too until I read your comment
Me too
I thought that too until i read your comment
I thought "man, Formula1 should stop reposting this old stuff, this is like 40 years old" then i saw the actual name of this channel
SAVE THIS MASTERPIECE BEFORE FOM DROPS HIM
@Otavio de Barros Pretty sure they can’t, this is pre 1981. There are a lot of full races from the 70s on TH-cam, including the 40 minute broadcast of the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix.
@@kaptnhansenpresidentjamaic9577 they probably still can, all of the modern grafic's and the music will be copyrighted.
@@Beverstoncastle5068 including F1 and FIA logos
@@kaptnhansenpresidentjamaic9577 They Bought the licence of pre 1981 races for F1TV mid 2018, but I don't know which exact seasons/races
They shouldn't shut down these awesome videos.
At 3:07 you can hear *look at that left front tyre, right front sorry* that commentary is also in the movie, now that's attention to detail
Pretty good job sir
That the left Isnt it?
but its left (?)
Yes is the left, guess the commentator did an unnecessary correction
Carl Tobias Goldberg
he said this :
Look at that left front tyre, right front tyre sorry , no shreds on it at all. and the other one is flat . thats what he said
From Rush movie
Dini Brahimi if you watch full race the real commentator said the same thing
ah yes. Good old F1 racing, back when only half the cars finished the race
You mean half the grid...? 🤔
Yes
*half the grid
And literally everyone was lapped by the the winner. Fun
And 87% of the field made it out alive
I hope instead of getting copystriked, that you get hired by Liberty Media
They probably will. A lot of official channel have hired independent content creator
He is hired by them :D
He worked for formula E
Best part is recognizing the voices as being the exact same from rush.
Ron Howard is an incredible director.
@@lotusraptos He needs to direct a sequel with the Prost/Senna McLaren rivalry
@@taliamason7986 If he did, I hope he does it objectively and it's not Senna 2.0
Also Hakkinen v Schumacher rivalry
@@RizalBatheki Why not. Audiences and critics loved Rush and it was nominated for best picture.
I can’t even imagine how much work went into making this
Wow, this is well made...
The thumbnail almost made me believe it's from official F1 channel...
Good job man, you should do more classic race highlights with modern graphics...! 👍
Glad to see the people taking initiative on reliving the classic true f1.
One cannot deny that the late Hunt was a fantastic all weather driver. The beginning of the race was crazy with so much spray and rain. RIP James, there never was a dull moment with you either in the drivers seat or on the microphone with your late buddy Murray Walker.
Of course he died far too young, and not from a car accident
Took me a few minutes to realize this was *THE* race at the end of “Rush”
Amazing to watch this. My dad was chief mechanic for the Lec team in this race driven by David Purley
That's awesome! I bet you've heard loads of stories from that time :)
Got a few recommendations:
Japan 1989
Monaco 1996
Germany 2000
Japan 2000
Australia 2003
Brazil 2003
Japan 2005
China 2007
Canada 2008
Canada 2011
Brazil 2012
Hungary 2015
Just a few recommendations :)
Don’t forget
Europe 1999
France 1999
Britain 2003
Hungary 2006
Malaysia 2011
Belgium 1998
Brazil 2008 was good too...for most of the race..until the last lap :DDD jk
Alan Ali 10
hamilton didin't led in Canada 08 and 11
he just crashed with someone else
It isnt the guy's fault that in those great races hamilton cant drive
Brazil 1991 , Ayrton Senna winning the race with the 6th gear only!!!
It’d be great if F1 made highlight reels of classic races like this. Excellent work!
4:07 and people say todays cars have too much difference
and that was still moderate. in the earliest days, the cars were that different, that the same car won with 10 laps lead in one race and was last in another.
Well the good thing is that gap between teams are definitely the smallest they have ever been BUT crucially the one important thing is that we still have only 3 teams that have realistic chance to be fighting for podiums each race and only 2 which have realistic chance of winning most races....and thats how its been for past 4-5 years now...and since car are so reliable these days compared to back then, there hardly will be any big surprises either in this marching order.
F1 has still lot to improve on in that regard, just imagine if the gap between all teams was as small as it currently is in midfield....
@@Balnazzardi the midfield seems to be way closer in 2019, than they were in 2018. We have quali times within a second of pole in the midfield and that is really good.
There was more emphasis on driver skill then. If you were within a second of your teammate it might be good enough, now if that is the margin, you are Kubica.
Gaps on track were larger, but it was more unpredictable because of poor reliability. Top 8 finishers belong to 8 different teams.
When you watch RUSH and didn't realize James Hunt had a teammate.
sometimes, its better to know the history first, then watch the movie...
@@rehannoor4961 we are gonna have our hands full with these newbies and the drive to survive kids
@@nickypoundtown9568 i also still young, but i willing to learn every history of motor racing.
this is why i had enough with ford fanboy because movie Ford v Ferrari.
Well sometimes I forget Lewis and Max have teammates as well ngl. People only really tend to look at the number 1 driver, especially if they're in a title fight
@@Ricky911_ no one will ever forget Checo after what he did for Max’s WDC title.
Incredible work! Wow man. I absolutely love it. :D Hats off!
What next?
Japan 1989?
Monaco 1984?
Absolutely phenomenal work!
The detail with the 1976 Fuji circuit insert with the yellow flag was my favourite :)
You just gave a perfect modern touch to one of the greatest races in F1 history. Very, very nice!
I would pay serious money to watch every old race like this
1:08 Hamilton and Vettel, Bahrain
Yeah he remanded that
1976: brambila spin behind hunt
2019: vettel spin behind hamilton
Hunt: By the power of the ancients, s🅱️innala.
@@TheOtherNeutrino lol
This is truly amazing, hope for more content in the future
Awesome work. Ty, sir
Man, this one was so well made too! Congratulations and Thanks!...
One of the greatest races of all time
You are a goat
OMG this is incredible
Monaco 1992 next plisss
Brilliant job! ;D
More videos like this,excellent work!🙏👏
The difference between top teams and the midfield was so much back then. It’s good we don’t have that much difference between the teams. You did a great job. That’s really amazing!
this is great. love the concept
one error. this was before 1994 so jody schekter would have used the old south african flag.
Precisely done. Love it. Well done
Utterly sublime. Great work.
0:23 that sound 😍
HIRE THIS MAN AND THROW MONEY AT HIM!
Rest In Peace James and Niki 🏎🏎
MAN, THIS IS AMAZING, great job man
4:12 that is a shit tonne of DNFs
What a lot of work must be in this video... MILLIONS OF CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Fantastic!!! Good to see these races again!!!! Thank you!!!!
These videos must take an insane amount of time and effort to produce. Hats off.
You did this beautifully! I love it.
They raced. Now in 2022, the race is red flagged 'cause they fear the rain. Full wets? What's that? :(
Great job Matt!!!! Amazing! I want more!
Well done you’re amazing at this!
you did a good job man... it literally looked like official f1 graphics... appreciations

Hunt stop was faster than Hamilton in Germany 2019 xd
43 YEARS TODAY. RIP SIR HUNT AND SIR LAUDA 🏁🏆
Also sir Stirling moss
My grandfather was in the Royal Navy at the time and had the submarine he was commanding stop off the coast of Japan so he could listen to the radio broadcast of the Japanese GP
wow!
Amazing! I hope F1 don't block because of copyright.
The pit stop time and the amount of mechanics is surprising!
Great work! Thanks for this!
Good job on this video man, you totally nailed it! Most amazing thing I've seen all year 👌👌👌
Nicely done!
"And it's lights out and away we go!"
Oh I got an idea, what if F1 classic GP had David Croft commentary
This was great. Kindly make more of these.
F1 was awesome back in the, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Dang, everything was better back then!
Hi! You can check out F1 99 Season with modern graphics and 25-points system on my channel🙂
Like my granddad said.. The car was so damn fast. The engine would break from overheating and the brake broke down every 10 laps
But always fun to watch because you can bet which one would broke first
These videos keep getting better and better, its so accurate and realistic!
Fantastic. You shod this for other historical races.
Really great! Great work, Matt! With those graphics, I could then tell which lap it was, which drivers were in which positions, and which drivers were out of the race! Well done!
Kachow! ⚡️
@@mattamys Matt did you get this footage from f1 tv? amazing content
