To anyone that is able to afford an overseas vacation I highly suggest going to Japan. I was stationed there in the mid-90’s!

I was lucky enough to be there for this. Its a terrible shame about what went on in the background for the Iranian champ. Not to take anything away from the Israeli but Mollaei was cleaning up all day until the finals. It's worth doing a bit of research if you're interested. Sad. And the female final was for me the high point of the whole tournament.
Is it possible that Mollaei thew the bronze medal match to avoid sharing the podium with Muki?
Not likely. He could just avoid making the final group picture or even receive the medal itself.
I'm late but he is now seeking asylum to Germany because authority in his country won't let him fight the Israeli so he revealed later on that he was forced to throw the fight even though he trained hard and didn't want to. Wish him all the best now.
