I went to school with Collin in high school, even back then he was telling everyone how terrible Kate is as a mother. My mom was also in a diner when the kids were younger and with Kate, my mom saw first hand how awful she is to her kids and she was extremely rude/dismissive towards the staff.

My daughter lived with me from broth until she was 13. When she turned 13 her dad had settled down and remarried. She'd never lived with him and wanted to know what it was like. It was EXTREMELY hard on me but I realized letting her live with her dad was the best thing. I had her for 13 years and then it was his turn. I missed her every moment and counted down the hours to my weekends with her. It was hard putting my feeling aside and doing what was best for her but thankfully I did it. She's 18 now and lives on her own. She's miss independent as always lol All that to say that our kids come first. Kate fighting for custody was just to hurt John and it hurt thr kids more than anyone. She can't put her ego aside for anyone

There most certainly is. If he was violent, Kate had to keep her other kids safe. His sister said he was violent and refused to deal with him. Sure, but being a marine is a big responsibility, and not everyone is psychologically robust enough to handle it. You’re not entitled to serve in the armed forces, it’s not a right granted to citizens, it’s a selective process.
It has nothing to do with the institutionalization, and more to due with the fact he didn't disclose it. You can be dishonorably discharged for not sharing that information.
Someone from Canada entered an institution for depression, suicide attempt , that person years later who was better and finished treatment wanted to take a cruise from the States. She was not able to cross the border and was sent back to Canada.
That doesn’t apply in the military. It wasn’t sealed court records and the military definitely asks for your medical history when enlisting. If he withheld that info then yeah he can be discharged. Also, the marines don’t want someone deemed unstable since their whole job involves using weapons.
I knew someone who was discharged bc he was coughing during training and someone who was chatting with him found out he had a singular asthma attack when he was a kid that he hadn’t disclosed

this is very very sad, for everything he suffered, they were all disciplined in some way, but he got it worse. reminds me of when a certain channel erased their son from the channel their videos and eventually their home; and the thing is, like every divorce, some kids will side w one parent, some w the other, but what's worse the damage is already done to him mentally too and those scars are super diffcult if impossible to erase. plus he already had a struggle at work in the army because of his mom and the show so. praying for him and the other kids so any remains of what she did doesn't hurt them more than it already has.

Ok sonit appears that he was in a war college or ROTC and they are clear about the requirements. Whether he deserved to be institutionalized is irrelevant. Had he addressed this during enrollment they could have avoided a last minute involuntary disenrollment. That doesn't mean Kate is a good Mom. TLC I feel played a huge part in messing families up. They put these families onto these shows and in turn the parents became money hungry. Case in point The Duggars. Not a lot of good comes from reality shows about families. Even family vloggers on social media.

Never trust these social media moms My friend's wife was trying to be an Instagram mom influencer and she never spent time with the kids _unless_ it was to make content for her IG. She wasn't even working nor was she taking care of ANY of the household chores. It took several arguments for my friend to convince his wife to do the dishes every now and then and even more just to get her to actually be interested in her own children

I'm sire kate hads also emotionally abused at least one of her 8 children and they reacted.

All I can say is every parent making their kids business projects be that on TV or SM is beyond creepy and should be investigated for subjecting children to a reality that they get monetized for.
Look I don't doubt what Kate is saying about how difficult it was at home. HOWEVER, she should take responsibility for her sons needs not being met in that environment. She should take ownership and say I failed somewhere because I couldn't help him. Super sad, generational trauma is not good.

Sure, but being a marine is a big responsibility, and not everyone is psychologically robust enough to handle it. You’re not entitled to serve in the armed forces, it’s not a right granted to citizens, it’s a selective process.
It has nothing to do with the institutionalization, and more to due with the fact he didn't disclose it. You can be dishonorably discharged for not sharing that information.
Someone from Canada entered an institution for depression, suicide attempt , that person years later who was better and finished treatment wanted to take a cruise from the States. She was not able to cross the border and was sent back to Canada.
That doesn’t apply in the military. It wasn’t sealed court records and the military definitely asks for your medical history when enlisting. If he withheld that info then yeah he can be discharged. Also, the marines don’t want someone deemed unstable since their whole job involves using weapons.
I knew someone who was discharged bc he was coughing during training and someone who was chatting with him found out he had a singular asthma attack when he was a kid that he hadn’t disclosed
I loved their show as a kid & every time I hear about how they turned out will forever break my heart in a million pieces. I hate how the siblings no longer have a relationship with Colin & the Jon etc & I'm not gonna lie but I lowkey blame Kate for this doing.

The other 6 kids are just a bunch of puppets under Kate"s mastery, even the twins. Collin and Hannah didn't want to be Kate's puppets any longer were able to escape Kate's puppetry. Collin was able to escape by asking Jon to get him out cause even he sent away but he was still under Kate's puppetry by her control. Kate is a puppet master.
this is very very sad, for everything he suffered, they were all disciplined in some way, but he got it worse. reminds me of when a certain channel erased their son from the channel their videos and eventually their home; and the thing is, like every divorce, some kids will side w one parent, some w the other, but what's worse the damage is already done to him mentally too and those scars are super diffcult if impossible to erase. plus he already had a struggle at work in the army because of his mom and the show so. praying for him and the other kids so any remains of what she did doesn't hurt them more than it already has.

If they were being hurt or if any of her accusations were true, surely they wouldn't keep him around and more people would have noticed to some degree. I have a mother who is worse than Kate and I can see right through her bs and lies. She's manipulating literally everyone but mostly her abused children. Her daughter speaking out against Collin means nothing to me, especially since we don't hold adults accountable for their reactions to abuse as children because DUH. Do you expect him to be perfect and happy? Did you expect him, as a child, to not react at all to being abused? No way you'll convince me he is wrong and Kate isn't. What a horrible excuse for a woman.
Why did she announce that he was being sent to an institution in the first place? How would she even know that Collin is attacking his father and sister if they have no contact with one-another? She's talking out of her behind at this point. Even if everything she says is true about her son, what she did to him was despicable. But I don't believe what she's saying. i grew up watching these kids as i was a kid myself, i grew to love them so much and hearing collin speak about his experiences hasnt been shocking but is so so heartbreaking. Since they were in her womb she exploited them and it appears that it will never end.
I remember watching one of the episodes of the show, and Kate was wanting a maid to clean the house, and she was so demanding, she fired the cleaner because she thought that she hadn't done a good enough job. The demands were too extreme!

Ok sonit appears that he was in a war college or ROTC and they are clear about the requirements. Whether he deserved to be institutionalized is irrelevant. Had he addressed this during enrollment they could have avoided a last minute involuntary disenrollment. That doesn't mean Kate is a good Mom. It is interesting though how his father and other sister haven't mentioned feeling threatened by him.

I find it interesting that the Marine Corps would only be looking (further?) into Collin's paperwork at the end of training. Wouldn't that be something they would have done before spending the time, money & resources to train him? Assuming his description of the situation is how it actually happened.
TLC I feel played a huge part in messing families up. They put these families onto these shows and in turn the parents became money hungry. Case in point The Duggars. Not a lot of good comes from reality shows about families. Even family vloggers on social media.
Even if what she says about Colin is true how come Jon was never informed about it. Like how did kate and none of the siblings ever bring up a time when Colin was freaking out? And if she was having such trouble with Colin, why didn’t she ask Jon to help or take him in? That’s usually how it goes between divorced parents

I do think he has some issues but I don’t know if they were there before he got sent away or BECAUSE he got sent away. It seems like he is functional and intelligent and mature. I think he is diagnosed ADHD, Jon admitted to that….not sure if that affects his chances in the marines.

In Collin's interview he said Kate zip tied his legs and hands, had a room in the basement that was unfinished with small window and a bolt on the outside and a mattress on the floor. And that's where she would put him. Her lawyer responded saying she won't comment because it won't change the past and that she never intentionally hurt her kids. She and the lawyer are not flat out denying it and I think that says a mouthful. 💔

It sounds like he didn't self-disclose (probablybecause he was a little kid when it happened and it wasnt his choice), and they found out = fraudulent enlistment. They had to discharge him which is sad because his mom sending him away cost him his dream of being a Marine.

My friend's wife was trying to be an Instagram mom influencer and she never spent time with the kids _unless_ it was to make content for her IG. She wasn't even working nor was she taking care of ANY of the household chores.
It took several arguments for my friend to convince his wife to do the dishes every now and then and even more just to get her to actually be interested in her own children

Based on what Mady said, it sounds like Collin may have gotten involved in some far right political beliefs and conspiracy theories (the fact that he’s being hateful towards people’s identities). “Seeking the truth” also sounds like a very conspiracy, brainwashed thing to say.

I think collin maybe did this stuff. Mental health is tricky. No one wants to be threatened by thier family. If collin did that to them and it sounds like maybe he did, it wasn't him truly. Abandoning him when he had a willing father to care for him was wrong. Maybe Kaye has herself convinced collins faults are the whole problem. I'm sire kate hads also emotionally abused at least one of her 8 children and they reacted.
