I have never played a single second of puyo puyo tetris. So I gotta ask, why does wumbo sometimes do t-spins? they don't seem to drop alot of trash on the opponents side
If he ain't doing them, and the opponent is, then that can lead to wumbo accumulating more damage. in the case of Swap mode, it's very bad to have damage on the puyo side.
T-spins are the strongest form of damage in the game, expiecially when used as a t-spin triple. They are mostly used when he knows he won't have a L piece for a while. I'm guessing he only uses it occasionally because it takes a lot of thought to set up and is very dangerous if failed.
tspins send 2 lines of trash for every 1 line cleared. they also continue your tspin/tetris combo, so if he can't get a tetris off, he'll do a tspin to keep his combo up rather than resetting his combo. effectively setting him up to do the most damage possible in the shortest time. (Combos increase damage dealt. and iirc it turns a tetris' 4 lines of damage to 6 lines)

T-spin double does the same amount of damage as a Tetris with less lines cleared. Basically more damage with less lines.
@@kaptinkitten3683 thx
