So this is why when I copypasted text it wouldn't be spellchecked. Took me a long time to realise, since the text I wrote with the add text function did get checked, so I assumed every textbox was checked regardless if I wrote them or pasted them. Well, thanks for the explanation!

Thank you for watching! I am hopeful that Adobe will offer a more comprehensive spell-check at some point because so many of us would like to check the whole PDF. 🙂

Hi, I have Acrobat Standard and have tried selecting the spellcheck for UK English, but it still only checks for US English. I tried getting help from Adobe support, but they said get a dictionary from Google and install it (!?!). A lot of back and forth, but no solution presented. Do you know where I can get a UK English spelling dictionary that I can instal in Acrobat and how I go about installing it? Any help much appreciated.

Thank you so much for watching! Unfortunately, I don't have any specific advice. In theory, you should be able to install the dictionary you need through the Customization Wizard. Here is a link from the Adobe support page that you may find helpful: helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/change-language-settings-of-acrobat.html.

Hello, thank you for watching my video. I am not aware of a dictionary app for PDFs; however, if I come across one, I will post a comment here. Best of luck!

When i go to Edit = Spelling, my option to check fields and comments is ghosted. Any tips?

That's a frustrating issue because many things could cause it. The first thing to check is that there aren't any editing restrictions on your PDF. Best of luck!

Unfortunately, I don't think that Adobe Acrobat DC currently offers such a tool. I hope that they will add one in the future. Thank you for watching my video!

    Thanks.
Boy, Adobe Acrobat is a GARBAGE program, eh? How hard would it be for them to install a basic spellcheck for all of the text in a pdf?!?

8 years later and they haven't done it yet.

Thank you for watching! Last month, Adobe introduced a new spell-check feature in the latest version of Acrobat for desktop. The spell-check runs automatically when you open the PDF; however, you can turn it off in Settings.
