@@reallydude111 This is a man who for 5 years has trashed WWE, HHH and Vince. This is a man who reportedly turned down an AEW contract because it didn’t match CM Punk and retain his EVP status. A person from WWE moving to AEW is irrelevant so I won’t comment on that.
What I will say is Cody Rhodes the wrestler I’m a huge fan of, both in ring and on the mic. Cody Runnels the man seems to have a disconnect to reality.

Notice there is a reason Cody hasn't fought/wrestled any of them.
This is why I think he hasn't had a serious match with Kenny Omega. Kenny has what... 50 belts from so many companies? Jericho, Punk, Danielson, even Cole... Miro, etc... all are ex WWE top singles belt holders. Even his own brother has held the top belt at WWE.
WWE gold is the missing thing in Cody's list of achievements. I think he's going for that. THEN he will come back and challenge all the belt holders in AEW. :)

I believe 100% he is gone. Those press releases need to be protected and are used for non kayfabe situations. If this is a work then all the future press releases won’t have as much credibility. SRS is reporting Cody is gone and he is the most credible source in wrestling media. Why would he risk all his credibility just for one story?
Cody is gone. He is going to WWE. Do I agree with his decision? No not really, I feel he makes more of an impact in AEW and him going back to WWE contradicts everything he has said. But also, he did say when he left WWE he wanted to be a bigger star and create an alternative. He did both of those things. If WWE book Cody right maybe that says to some AEW talent that WWE isn’t as bad as they thought and they could jump ship if they are not happy. For 3 years it’s been one way with WWE talent moving to AEW but now it honestly feels like this could be the year we see some AEW talent move to WWE and some WWE talent go to AEW. Going to be very interesting.
So, why did this happen. Well from what I’ve read (I haven’t got the full story, I just know as much as the rest of the people) but it seems AEW didn’t want to pay the money Cody wanted and it seems maybe the relationship between Cody and Tony has been a bit damaged when Tony took more control. Maybe Cody thought he was lied to about having that level of creative freedom. He might be going back to WWE because he knows people there, he gets along with some people there and it’s not a step back from working in AEW where it would be if he went to NWA or Impact. I believe Cody owns the rights to his Kingdom theme so if he comes back with that theme then returning to WWE on the Raw after WrestleMaina would make the most sense since that’s a hardcore audience who will know that theme and be able to pop.
I know Jericho said at one point he won’t go back to WWE and has been outspoken about WWE but Cody is heading back there and I thought he was less likely then Jericho. I can see Jericho heading back there, if he’s deal is up in November then we could be seeing WWE signing him and keeping him ready for the Royal Rumble. Remember, they resigned Edge to a wrestlers contract in October 2019 but didn’t bring him back to TV until January 2020 in the Rumble match so this could happen. Also, if Edge’s deal is three years from when he signed that means it could be up in October. AEW had interest in Edge before. Would they try and sign him again. Would Edge want to go? He’s deal is up in either October 2022 or January 2023.

Don't you understand how petty and resentful Vince is? He won't EVER make Cody a star. Did you forget they wanted to prevent him from use his father's ring-surname?
If he accepts to work in WWE, it will just to get the paycheck. He won't ever be in a better position in WWE than he was in AEW (he's NOT the one who will defeat Roman), he won't be given a creative/executive position, and won't elevate the Rhodes name, specially not in the company where Vince tried desperately to humilliate every member of his family.

This is a total BS statement. In The Young Buck's book, they told the story of Cody trying to get them all to go to WWE, because he didn't initially believe AEW could take off like it did. Also, Cody road the coat tails of The Elite, who were the real reason Tony Khan wanted to invest in AEW. It was Kenny Omega's huge run in NJPW, his feud with Jericho, and the All In show that sparked this all. Sure, Cody helped out, but the guy didn't believe in AEW from day one. Also, "He didn't want to turn heel because he loved us"......booo hooo bro, anyone with eyes could see that he needed to turn heel. His character was stale, and he constantly was crying in the ring, and living off the coat tails of his Dad. The guy cannot even be his own character. That is why people complain about his "ego". As for bringing in celebrities....who the hell cares? Also, It was more than likely Tony Khan and his Dad that brought them in, not Cody lol

WWE just earned over a $1B for the first time ever. That alone will convince McMahon he's making the right decisions.
Besides, guys like Pritchard, Dunn and Laurinitis will have Vince's ear shitting on whatever input Cody would have. If only to protect their own positions and influence in WWE.

Cody will be such a hypocrite if he goes back to WWE. But so be it. He refused to turn heel but in a way he just made the biggest heel move.

Can only be for the money, he won’t get career progression or personal freedom at WWE especially compared to what he has now at AEW. It is a rather strange move if WWE is the place he is going. Still part of me (very small part) thinks this could be a work ‘Cody Rhodes’ leaves AEW but returns with a new gimmick and he’s able to wrestle for the world title

Can't hate on Cody going for the money. He has a baby, the world is in a bad place, inflation. He can save as much money he can by doing this and building his own brand

Weird thing about Dave saying Vince&Bruce are out of touch with modern wrestling, but a “modern” wrestling company with gobs of money and a great TV spot still can’t outdraw Raw which, less a few spots, is the worst wrestling show potentially ever

Vince basically has been presented a golden goose. What's the over under on how long he takes to slaughter it?
