love the pod, memphis bleek once told a the story that his lil bro couldnt pronounce his real name, that's where the name memphis bleek came from. ( not too sure about album titles)
Good interview… but Dj’s in Brooklyn been throwing our own parties.. I understand what he is saying but he isn’t correct.. he got to the city I’m 2017. Dj’s been throwing parties since early 2000s in bk 😊
Right on the money! Also, he has to understand that just cause you have gigs in hip hop/ open format or you opened for roger sanchez, that doesn't mean anything. secondly, soulful movement isn't moving bread like that unless you are attracting a certain crowd and you have to be one with them. you can't just jump on the scene.
Why do you think martinez brothers went from house to techno- following dominant culture which isnt black. tech, progressive, and pop EDM is where it's but those folks don't look like him. lastly, he keeps naming old classic heads but there are so much more to the culture and you have to know the history from not only the late 80s, but to 2013 where house peaked from 2002-2011
Big Bro put me on game about many things I need to start investing in and building for myself as a DJ just getting started. Much love.
I saw Mike Nasty at Lot45 back in the day! Good times. Great interview yall
