It's her best since Confessions, but definitely not her best, ever. Ray of Light is a fan favourite & a groundbreaking, critical success, that still sounds fresh, today. My other _personal_ faves are American Life & Music. Like A Prayer is also a classic. I think Rebel Heart is a good album, but doesn't compare to some of her previous work. Also, American Life is the most underrated. This album was actually very successful & loved, so cannot be underrated. If anything it's the opposite & overrated, an example would be you calling it her best work. She took a risk, musically with American Life, but did not with Rebel Heart. "Hollywood", became her first single not to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1983. The title track, was released to a generally negative critical reception, with Blender naming it the ninth worst song of all time. The album charted at number 37 in the US. The controversial music video for American Life was pulled after scenes of war and violence were criticized which led to an edited version being released. "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion", the third and fourth singles respectively, featured a lack of promotion resulting in poor commercial performances. American Life initially received mixed reviews; critics found the record confusing and "about Madonna".

Rebel Heart is probably madge's best album, but at the same time it's the most underrated
It's her best since Confessions, but definitely not her best, ever.
Ray of Light is a fan favourite & a groundbreaking, critical success, that still sounds fresh, today. My other _personal_ faves are American Life & Music. Like A Prayer is also a classic. I think Rebel Heart is a good album, but doesn't compare to some of her previous work. Also, American Life is the most underrated. This album was actually very successful & loved, so cannot be underrated. If anything it's the opposite & overrated, an example would be you calling it her best work. She took a risk, musically with American Life, but did not with Rebel Heart.
"Hollywood", became her first single not to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1983. The title track, was released to a generally negative critical reception, with Blender naming it the ninth worst song of all time. The album charted at number 37 in the US. The controversial music video for American Life was pulled after scenes of war and violence were criticized which led to an edited version being released. "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion", the third and fourth singles respectively, featured a lack of promotion resulting in poor commercial performances. American Life initially received mixed reviews; critics found the record confusing and "about Madonna".
@@solongsuicide9 actually the song charted at #37 in the us, not the album. The album charted at #1. Rebel heart wasn't nearly as successful as American Life. Rebel heart got certifications in very few countries and the US wasn't one of them. Also the highest charting song on rebel heart, bitch I'm Madonna, charted at #87 in the US compared to #8 of die another day and #37 of American Life. Also, erotica was far more underrated than American Life. It was her first album not to chart at #1 since her debut and she got far more backlash from people. American Life may have gotten more negative reviews from critics, but Madonna got a ton of backlash from people for erotica.
