I love Ashrah from Deception and now that she returns on MK1 I'm totally happy that they gave her a very great story. Hoping that on the next MK she will be more human and already absolve from her sins as a demon.
The fact that Ashrah asked Shang Tsung if he was born in the Netherrealm shows just how evil the man is. A demon thought a mortal was another demon; that's hilariously foul!
Even when given a humble origin, Shang Tsung had no problem toying with the desperation of others for profit, the opening scene of MK1 made it rather clear that the man is just rotten at his core.
Shang Tsung can rival the likes of Kano, Shao, and Shinnok when it comes to how evil he can be. The man only cares about himself and how to obtain as much power as possible. He's what happens when greed and ambition are over maxed out in a person.
Actually, she's still a demon but will become fully none soon after she purified her soul. Fallen angel (angel turn bad) banish from heaven and reside in hell like lucifer, so ashrah is like risen demon (demon turn good).
So, base on her and Geras dialogue, Ashrah will eventually become pure, to attain complete absolution. Therefore, she will become mortal with no traces of being demon.
I love her design, love her fighting style, love her story in general and LOVE that she's here. But uh… are we not gonna talk about how she thinks killing other demons to purify herself is fine? This feels like a bug when it should be a feature. I really want them to explore this, there's so much potential here.

the way they do mileena x tanya and ashrah x syzoth comforts me so much after following Apex Legends' lore. This is how you do romance when it's not the main point of the story, not just randomly shove characters kissing and aggressively flirting when you say "thanks" in-game
@dazzledmarmot711 to be completely fair there isn't much lore besides Loba and Revenant shenanigans anymore, maybe a bit of Octane vs Lifeline. They seem to have completely forgotten about Mirage, Vantage and most importantly Ash

I dunno if this has to do with the fact she's voiced by Susan Eisenberg, but Ashrah's is definitely this timeline's Wonder Woman. So it makes me wonder why Injustice can't do the same for all their characters. (Yes, it's an Elseworlds' story, but it could've been written a hell of a lot better)

Ashrah sounds like a character from the bible because she's kills demons with her kriss, looking for redemption and healing, she tells the other fighters to repent from evil and control your inner Demons, Ashrah should've said this to Tanya " There's evil between Mileena and you Tanya!" Tanya : Why!? Is there something wrong between me and Mileena!?" Ashrah: Yes it's an abomination to this Lord named Jesus Christ!" Her outfit is kinda like the armor of God without the helmet, she's the angel who fights against evil by putting the armor of God like ephesians 6:10-18
