TOULOUSE URBAN CABLEWAY OPENING • 14 MAY 2022

After 3 years of work, the Toulouse urban cable car (called "Téléo" by Tisséo, the transport authority) finally opened to the public this Saturday, May 14, 2022.
It’s free to use for the first weekend of operation.
This new mode of public transport is the longest of its kind in France with a length of 3 kilometers, and allows here the connection between the Paul Sabatier university (where subway line B has also been running since 2007), the Rangueil hospital and the Oncopole. For this last station, a 500-space car park has been set up.
The creation of the line required the installation of 5 pylons and the construction of 3 stations. According to Tisséo, this cable car line has a capacity of 8000 passengers per day. Each of the 15 cabins has a maximum capacity of 34 people (including 20 seats), and will ensure a passage every 1.5 minutes, and will operate every day of the year (except May 1 and 2 weeks in August, annually) from 5:15 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Tisséo is planning a long-term extension of the line, from the Oncopole to Basso Cambo (corresponding to the terminus of subway line A) to the west, and from Paul Sabatier university to the district in full development of Montaudran to the east, in correspondence with the future 3rd metro line (currently planned), as well as the local train station of the district.
It was officially inaugurated the day before it opened to the public by Jean-Luc Moudenc (mayor of Toulouse and president of Toulouse Métropole), Jean-Michel Lattes (president of Tisséo), Carole Delga (president of the Occitanie region) and Etienne Guyot (prefect of Haute-Garonne).

Le son est assourdissant dans la cabine, j'espère que ça vient de l'enregistrement sinon c'est pas top de voyager là dedans

Avec un casque c'est comme si nous étions, c est la vibrations du cable que l'on entends

On entend surtout les oiseaux donc ça doit être assez discret et une impression donnée par le micro.
En tout cas ceux (les 3S) que j'ai pris en montagne n'étaient pas bruyants. Donc j'imagine mal une version urbaine faire plus de bruit qu'une version station de ski.
