- In this English lesson I have a special guest. I mentioned to Jen that I wanted to make an English lesson about marriage and I invited her to join. She said yes! We thought a good format would be to ask you for some questions about marriage and then take the time to answer them.

In this video Jen and I will teach you a few English words and phrases about marriage while we're answering some of your questions about our marriage and marriage in Canada.
I'll admit this is more of an English listening practice lesson than a true English lesson, but I do teach some English marriage words and phrases, and it does have word-for-word English subtitles if you need them. Be aware though that most of the lesson is spent responding to questions that some of you sent us.
It was a lot of fun to make this video. I hope that you enjoy it as well! Thanks for all the questions and once again I apologize that we could only answer about 30 of them. There simply wasn't time to answer over 200.

P.S. We printed out all the questions and chose two per page. If I didn't answer your question it doesn't mean it wasn't a good question, but we needed to limit the question in some way.

Hi Teacher Bob, this was a really nice and sincere one, thank you for it : -) I liked especially your opinion about the importance of the seasons in life. I've just read a book (of course in English! : -) ) where the author highlighted right these: the seasons in every areas of life, how important to recognize them, to handle all of them and to accept them, to live with them. @@francelyb.9031 Sure! : -) This one is especially the "7 strategies for wealth and happiness" by Jim Rohn. I really suggest the books and tapes by him because he was a successful businessman and for me so it's more valuable from a particular view. I mean because he led a modern life in a famous and big country (California) so when someone who could reach all these things still says that how important to realize and to accept the seasons of life...... that one must be right, I guess. : -) (and he also admits that this knowledge comes from the villages, from the counrtysides that we should keep and not to forget even if we are living in the center of the bigger cities) So all in all, he wrote more books, I suggest you not just this one. : -) Bye, I hope you will like it!
@@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian Totally agreed. : -) Or, there are some kind of seasons that when they end I'm rather happy and not sad but of course that means exactly what the adage says: "I never lose, either I win or I learn" So all in all, yes, we needs all the seasons just for different reason.

I think you are a meaningful valuable example for young families and especially for your own kids,I am a Muslim woman from Chechnya which is a part Of Russia .My parents met when they were 18 and their marriage lasted for 54 years.I miss the time when a happy big family of 10 sat at the table at the same time

It says that couple live together then their faces resemble each other. You two look quite alike^^. You look so happy when you smile at each other. I got married when I was 37 years old. I was a little late. But I guess, I was the right age get married. Because I wanted to get married then. hahaha~~ I've been married for 12 years. I have a daughter and a son.

The last one i noted down in your class is "cord is frayed". We say it as 'broken ' only because we don't know the apt word. For us english is our second language in schools. But as not enough speaking experience we could not. Moreover its considered prestigious one who can speak english, in my State. I spend hours in learning english in this lockdown period. From your videos i understood many things clearly, thats the way you explains. As India is Commonwealth country British english is followed here. I could not distingish American and British. One thing for sure i can understand what our great teacher teaches.. I have seen many comments like they can follow "Bob the Canadian " very much just like me. Our place is subtropical so we don't have any snowy winter or like. But when i attend your class i feel like i have visited that place. Thank you once again.

I don't read the caption though, I can understand 80% of your conversation, I like it. It's different from the actor's lines in an American movie, the speaking speed is so fast in a movie. I hope there will be much more of this kind of way of teaching.
