- 'Mori' is a film by Dylan Robinson documenting the return to the deep powder tree skiing of Japan. Featuring skier Drew Jolowicz it conveys the feeling of traveling to a small Japanese village and experiencing the calm yet breathtaking feeling of floating through the forest (Mori). Supported by Arc'teryx AU and Mountain Safety Collective.
Oh to fly through the powder my skis never touching the earth! You touched me brother. Cheers.
Thanks for watching!
master piece
Mate this is incredible! masterpiece of a video
Super, ultra, IPER, mega fantastic scene. I am very very envious for what you have found in this place. Powder snow, dry cold and warm friendship! This is the most ingredient for a unforgettable vacation.
Incredible place!
thats why we hike & ride JaPow every year. Fantastic movie. thanks
Just superb shooting & editing.. so many great shots & very skilfully stitched together with the narrations : I give this 11/10
Thank you!
Absolutely epic
Fantastic job, man. The shots, the cuts, the narration...I felt like I was there. I very much hope there will be more to come!!

Great short film. Excited for my trip to Japan later this year
Thank you! Enjoy!
Wow man, great film with some epic shots! 👏👏🤩
I hope to get a chance to go back and bring the big Camera too!
Thank you!
Beautiful film Dylan!
I can't wait to get back to Japan in January!
Cheers! Enjoy the trip!
Cool !!
Great message! Watching this inside, escaping the forest fire smoke, dreaming of fresh cold air. I agree that skinning up a track is not nearly as bad as some people make it out, and makes for a way more rewarding day of skiing. Cheers man!
This is amazing!!! ❤
Thank you!
This is a cool place❤
wow
👏👏👏👏👏
Looks like Tohoku. I'm a Zao local. Hit me up next time you pass through.
consider kamchatka one day, very similar snow conditions to japan but peak season is march to may
Pretty awesome video. Nice editing. Badass
Any chance to get a gear breakdown please? Skis, boots, skins, bindings tips, thanks for a beautiful vid ❤
Very nice video I love Japan ! What kind of camera did you use for the movie ? Thanks a lot
Lovely edit. That one shot of the rotemburo (outdoor bath) was that not Maguse Onsen?
Correct!
Очень классный фильм, близкий мне посыл. Я сам горнолыжник и живу этим. Удачи и новых кинокартин тебе!!!
bro need more likes
Where was this filmed? Looks like the Japanese Alps, not Hokkaido, but maybe it combines the two?
I'm 99% sure this is Nozawa onsen with the fire festival and the town streets!
@@HanaFilms1 thanks! Nozawa Onsen is on my bucket list
Mostly around Nozawa, some sections Hokkaido. Cheers
a beautiful work of art! i am interested in your setup. how did you film the project? i did a smaller project in powder and had quite a hard time filming because of the deep snow, how do you do it?
What gear did u use to film this? Such a good video
Where exactly in Japan?
Nagano prefecture :)
Very nice video with great shots and wonderful conditions, but talking about carbon neutrality when you go skiing in Japan from Australia ? I dont know what you do all year long to reduce your footprint but I think it would have been more appropriate to simply talk about nature without involving this.
Agreed 100%! Just another hypocrite
Thanks for your input! Every little bit we do counts. Glad you enjoyed the film :)
what's wrong with going skiing lol wtf
*PromoSM* ☹️
nice shots and what a spot, but could you not find a more talented / interesting skier?
Beautiful film. The ecological footprint comments seem hypocritical. It’s obvious that guy flew and drove to this amazing place. Arc’teryx white washing to sell gear? Disappointing and misleading. 👎
Agreed 100%
Thank you! Every little bit we do counts. I feel not to take away from those making a concious effort, even if it's not perfect. None of us are, but as long as we try.
I was loving this until we got a lecture on carbon foot print. I dont want to go to your church of ESG so no thanks. It’s like a commerical for Jehovas witness only in the snow in Japan.
wow. hardly a lecture mate. he literally made a statement - you can agree or disgree with it. and he speaks the truth - we need to reduce our footprint or else dumps in Japan will be less requent and skiing may become a thing of the past.
