I wish Xbox would support local network remote play from console to console, console to PC (which they do already), PC to console all at 4K 120hz. It would really make the Series S that much more viable. Someone’s on the TV where your X is? Play that series X at up to 4K on your S. Have an Xbox One and a Series X or S? Stream one console to another room to have that other option. Have only an S or a PC exclusive game? Stream your PC game with controller support locally to your Xbox consoles. As someone who uses a shield to stream PC games locally Xbox adding these would be huge.
I totally agree with this post! This console is the real star of MS’s console lineup! Is it flawed? Yes, to some extent. Is it a great starting point to play Xbox exclusives? Absolute no-brainer. For the money it’s more than decent.
I have both X and S. I love both. The X is for my living room on a 50inch Sony Bravia 4K120Hz TV. The S I used with a 1440p 27 inch AOC curved 165hz gaming monitor. I also use the S as a portable console using a portable 17inch 60hz Uperfect 1440p gaming monitor. Both consoles are amazing especially when you are using the appropriate monitor/TV to maximize the performance. With the exception of Red Dead 2 (which isn't optimized) I can barely notice a difference. The games I play are Witcher, Madden, Gears 5, Valhalla, and GTA5 (current generation version)
i had a Series S before i upgraded to the Series X, i never thought from owning it, “damn i wish i had more performance”. The Series S is a phenomenal console once you get past the storage issue, it’s amazing, it’s a beast and i’m so glad it exists.
Back in the Pandemic time, the Series S was the only new console I can find in store and online at MSRP. Shout out to the Series S for holding it down for me until I upgraded to a PS5.
I just grabbed a series S even though I got a PS5 mainly for emulation and Starfield. I gotta say I missed how in-depth the settings menu and the freedom xbox offers. It's great to have both, lol
What matters to me is it allows the common person to get into current gen gaming with little financial hastle. 300 bucks is a hell of a lot more affordable then 500 for someone working at 15 an hour.
I've always been a PlayStation player, but I decided to buy an S as a secondary console last year and I absolutely love it. I can easily carry it around to play some matches at my friend's place, I can fire up from time to time for an important exclusive or a game pass addition, and I never felt left out of anything just because it's slightly weaker than the X. I can only recommend it, a great concept imo
@@pakteus For my particular playstyle, it's not an issue. I mainly play singleplayer titles with a dash of indies and I tend to delete the ones I've finished. This way I never had to make space for anything, but if you play multiplayer games with huge file sizes like CoD, you might wanna consider the X.
@@kopottrobotor he can just buy a storage extender he could get the 2t that Microsoft sells it’s pretty good plus the x and s come with the same amount of storage so it’s really the size difference personally I love it
Owning both a Series S for downstairs and Series X upstairs in the game room, my ONLY complaint with the S was the storage. I think this model will be fine for most people, even on a 4K TV.
Agreed. If you're a Hardcore Gamer™️ and like having multiple consoles around the house, the Series S is such an awesome thing to have to compliment a Series X. It's not me, but tons of people just want a simple box that plays CoD and 1-2 sports games and the Series S does that very well
I love my Series S. It's allowed me to play games that will never come to the Switch, like Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, Starfield, Forza Horizon, etc. It's a sleek machine and more powerful than meets the eye.
I just upgraded to the Series X a few days ago. The Series S is an amazing console and most people do not and will not ever need the X when they can get the S. However for me personally I started to get annoyed with the resolution and optimizing in certain games for example Street Fighter 6 and framedrops in Starfield. The resolution bump is also a great visual upgrade. I wouldn’t say it’s worth the upgrade right now but these consoles are meant to last 4+ years still. So keep that in mind if there are already games out there right now that are becoming noticeably less on the Series S.
Yeah have a ps5 and just recently upgraded to a series x they are much better than the series s but that was still a great console for me until the next 2 became widely available
@@angelopebsI do wish the frames were higher tbh. After playing 60+ fps for about 2+ years now, it’s hard to adjust to lower Fps unless it’s on switch. It’s a good game tho.
I already had switch and a ps5, and I was burned by the 360 era as I had rrod several times I stuck with the Sony and Nintendo , but I couldn’t resist game pass I bought a series s , I was that impresssed I upgraded to a series x two months later and it is now my main console I use, my Nintendo for their first party games and Sony for first party and vr
Like some others said, shoulda def made this $300 and bump down the white S to $229-$250 and make the black S $300 “to make up for the other 1/2 of GB they missed with the white one”
I bought one because I couldn't get a X. Never regreted it. The Series S is a wonderfull and strong enough machine to have much fun with. It is cheap, silent and runs everything I throw onto it. And it only uses 80W max. This is awesome! It small, lightweighted enoug to carry around and is just perfect for me to play while on the road!
@@ABood_Xeznah dude got a ps5 and series x recently had a series s before the ps5 and series x are far better than the s but the s is a great portable console
I got X because of the Ladder strategy, that and the last big console I played prior to switching to PC was the 360 (yes both Microsoft). On amazon an amazon certified refurbed Series X was 50 bucks more (400) than the new 1tb S (350). It was an easy call and amazon refurb quality was 8/10. Overall happy but would still love an S for my bedroom! I love how small and sleek the S looks, perfect for many things but the one that most worries me is how long will it keep up with the X in an unnoticeable manner.
Why do we need a digital only Series X? That’s literally what the Series S already is. Both Series S models are cheaper than the PS5 Digital Edition too.
Series S is a wonderful second console.been using it a lot more than the ps5 lately. But the true downfall is the storage on the white one it has like 360gb storage which really limits you. Eventually your gonna need an ssd which is still overpriced.
If they sold this one for 299 and the 512gb for 249 it would be worth it. Just because for 349 you might as well save up 50 more dollars and get a ps5 digital. It’s discless and 1tb but has better graphics, memory, and ram.
@@lazyman1270same I already have a ps5 disc version and a Nintendo switch OLED not looking to spend too much money on another console but I do want to play starfield
Yeah, the price should have shifted down, especially with the decreases in cost of storage lately. Would have looked better to the consumer. For $350, I'd probably be looking at getting a second Steam Deck instead, as it runs Starfield and Halo.
@@Blakviet05 do you have a pc? Playing on series s is really good. I have a 4k 65 inch tv. Don't let people who talk smack about 30fps lock dissuade you. It runs beautifully, but buying a series s just for starfield may not be worth it.
My only problem with the series S, and the reason I did joy upgrade from my VHS XBOne is the lack of disk reader. I have a lot of physical games on the Xbox one that I still play and would not be able to if I switch to the series S and I don't want to spend the money on the X.
Do you have a One X? Those are decently cheap and great for physical games. If you’re savvy enough, you could put a SSD in it too giving it a nice performance boost. But only attempt that if you feel comfortable
Solution: Buy a used Xbox Series X. Or maybe an Xbox One X or One S will still do now since the Series X doesn’t have many games yet that aren’t also on Xbox One.
I currently own a PS5, Nintendo Switch and now the XBSS. I gotta say, I missed having an Xbox. I love how small the Series S is. You can just take it around anywhere, but I am thinking about trading it in for the black one
If you prefer the white color, one of the recent Xbox leaked showed that they are eventually planning on replacing the current 512GB with a new white one with 1TB. So maybe you can wait for that if you prefer the white. Or you can buy an expansion card.
Im a university student and i had an Series X/S and Ps5. I have a relatively small dorm room and i dont want my gaming setup to be the center of it. I first got the ps5 and it was just way to big. Switch from pc to console made it also really expensive on ps5. I returned it for an series S. You can get AAA games for a few bucks with Keyshops and the gamepass is killer.
I bought the Xbox series S just for Starfield, I grew up playing PlayStation and the PS five is my main gaming system right now but honestly, I’m surprised of how well the series S has held up. I even downloaded the Mass Effect series and it looks amazing. I’m definitely going to keep this for a minute until I upgrade to the X but even then I don’t have to because this runs amazing. I only plan on using it for Starfield and maybe the Oblivion or fallout three remastered
I'm considering the S over the X since I would only be playing it for 8 to 10 hours a month (I'm too busy) and maybe the $500 X would be overkill for me.
@@benhurbenstiller I feel you man I work two full-time jobs so I rarely get to play. I recently just upgrade to that series X and I’ve been stuck at the into the unknown mission for as long as I can remember I’ve done all the side quest so I’m just stuck in limbo. Other than that it’s collecting dust. I think the S is fine for now unless you find a good deal in Black Friday
I have the Series S 1TB with an external hard drive. Performance is insane and with a good monitor it's probably the best. One thing people will say the downside is not owning physical copies or being able to play old gen games but it's not really that much of an issue, sure new games maybe more expensive but if you know the right places you can get keys for cheap. For old gen games If i really wanted too I can just break out my old Xbox and play them on there lol. Apart from that it's worth buying if you are considering the cheaper option, also you get exclusives with game pass and new releases if you specifically own these models. I bought mine during a sale for 250 when it was first released last year in September and I haven't regretted it since. Can't wait for all the new releases running on the new game engines we have in 2024, it's truly going to be an epic time for gaming in the upcoming 5 years.
I've been considering getting a series s for a few months and your comment totally convinced me to just get one! I don't give a crap about frame rates or graphics ability either. I still use a 1080p TV! 😀
That’s most likely Xbox strategy to get more players into their ecosystem 🤷🏻♂️ knowing PlayStation and Nintendo will always dominate the console sales especially since it’s not the sole focus of Xbox going forward, they’ve exited the console war the day they announced everything going PC day 1 and have taken it another step further by offering their content basically everywhere using Cloud 🤷🏻♂️ The cheap hardware along with the amazing deal of Gamepass is a no brainer for gamers that don’t want to miss anything.
Own a PS5 & Xbox Series S, just sold my series s for the new black series s just because of the space. I already have a hard drive and I don’t need a disk port as I buy digital, I think it runs great. Don’t really need the x tbh, I’m picking the black s up from Best Buy in a couple days but people telling me it was a bad choice and I should’ve just got the series X or the expansion card
Between the Switch, Steam Deck, and Series S, lower spec hardware is pretty much a non-issue. So many people these days don't need state of the line visuals to have a good time
As someone who never owned a PS5 nor XBS before, I do believe they have plenty of potential to enhance gaming on the 2020s in Nintendon't fashion/style, and I appreciate their 8K support as well, it's just that PlayStations never stop relying on graphics, while Xboxes often fail at keeping their own gaming IPs first-party. However, even though i've never bought a 9th-generation console before, I do in-fact believe that Xbox Series X|S do have a decent amount of benefits, they're just not the intended benefits for gaming-consoles that compete in their video-game markets. All in all, the best benefit I could think of for Xbox Series X|S is Emulation on TV, but this video might change my mind even more now, i'll just have to wait & see how it goes.
If your a casual player the 1TB Series S is a perfect system as if you pare it with Game Pass Ultimate you get Xbox + Windows Game Pass plus you get Cloud Gaming on top which is a brilliant way to try out games before you download them, also the older 512GB Series S is the perfect console for a younger gamer.
Gamepass is anti consumer trash designed to take away your say and influence , use your brain and think past the cheap price NOTHING IS WORTH GIVING UP YOUR SAY OF VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET
Through a friend who used their Verizon account, I was able to get a new (not pre-owned, refurbished, etc) Series S for $150 + tax during a Verizon promo offer a few months ago. Getting my toe in the current gen pool for roughly a 1/3 of the cost vs the Series X & both PS5 models seemed like the right move for me as I can't plunk down $400-$500 + tax currently on a gaming machine. Although I can only buy games digitally and internal storage is pretty limited, I have no regrets as I'll usually wait for sales for digital games and use discounted digital Xbox cards to pay for those games and delete games when necessary. That said, I do feel more invested in the MS/XB ecosystem vs Sony/PS and will likely upgrade to a Series X down the road when either funds become available, there's a significant price drop (at $350 or lower, I might impulse buy one), or both.
Xbox series s is my first Xbox console, so it being all digital worked for me as I was aiming for the backlog games which some weren't available on PlayStation. Wouldn't mind the upgrade in memory with this Black edition
@@WizzlyBearW0rms I usually put my settings into performance rather than ray tracing / graphics but both consoles run games very well. I really enjoy gaming on Xbox, I've played some games on Xbox that I previously played on PS & they run as smooth as I remember.
Honestly, I had this issue with my Day one Xbox One, was that the majority of the Disc based games involved a hefty download to even play it. So what was the point of the disc? I switched to the Series S, but unfortunately couldn't afford the expansion and it's been a big ass struggle bus to keep more than 2-3 games on it and have the flexibility to have more when the friends want to switch games.
I play on PC but I just got a series s. It is mostly for Playing games on the TV or just playing games that aren't cross platform so I can play with my friends who nearly all have a Series X as their main or have a PS5 but a series S as a secondary. I love where it fits in the market and hope Xbox releases 2 different consoles again next generation.
Larian managed to make it work just fine. The "issue" with the series S isn't any different than the Steam Deck; developers are just going to have to do their job and optimize for the platform. You know, that thing they should have been doing in the first place..
Honestly the Xbox Series S is a steal for this console generation. Granting access to next-gen gaming at an affordable price point is absolutely insane. Even now with inflation and everything prettying much peaking in price the Xbox Series S is simply a great value and great gaming.
The Series S is actually pretty great and it IS my main console. I take issue with many reviewers that throw the line it is a "great secondary console", specially when their main console is something like the nintendo switch. In fact the only thing that prevents the XSS from emulating the switch with better graphics and framerates is simply the fact that an emulator for the xbox platform hasnt been ported yet. For everyone who games on a 1080p panel and wants to be up to date but also cares for quality retrocompatibility going back 20 years (further if you use emulators) the xss can easily be your main machine. God knows you wont find a wide array of native, commercially available offerings of 6th and 7th gen titles in a current machine that also lets you play new titles anywhere else unless youre gaming on pc.
You can’t go wrong with a Series S with 1TB of storage in my opinion. I bought the white Series S a couple years ago after my PS4 died & ever since I upgraded it with the 1TB expansion card I haven’t even thought about buying a different console.
Same here! XSS is not my primary system (that would be the switch) but I enjoy having the opportunity to dive into the gamepass here and there when something of interest for me pops out. With XSS games being relatively smaller in installation space (compared to PS5 and XSX) and the extra terabyte of memory, I have been more than covered in the last couple years.
I have to say I totally love the design of the Series S. When I inevitably upgrade to the Series X, i think for the first time in my console owning history, Im not gonna trade the S in. Ill probably keep it in the upstairs living room with the Switches.
I just got the Xbox s besides my PS5 (have been always a ps gamer) to play starfield. I am very impressed what this small thing offers. Starfield is also great!
Sunk cost fallacy? If you bought a system for starfield I feel sorry for you games awful I couldn't keep playing it , pisses me off with all the loading and forced transition screens It was the docking animation that broke me got sick of it very fast
Im a PC player since about ps2 ages. But after my EVGA gpu died from one day to another i bought an series S out of rage (PS5 was absolutely out of stock here in Brazil 1 and a half years ago, only available with resellers asking +1200 usd) so i said fuck it. I can't believe how much more i played with it. I almost went back to my golden Ps1 years (Im 39) The vastness of titles that gamepass ultimate has, im replaying halo that only played a little bit with my friends old xbox years ago, the old gears of war. Omg flight simulator is incredible for the people who loves aviation like me etc. Cloud gaming is already awesome. I play from my job and with a good connection runs very well. Excellent system. For an excellent price.
The Core issue i have with series S is its made devs waste more time and money making sure that current gen games run on it. It holds current gen games back just like the last gen consoles hold back games made to play on all systems.
@italianstallion701 Well yes, of course! ^_^ I mean this video, is he taking that into account specifically? He seemed to elude to it, but never mentioned it by name. I wonder if FSR 3 is going to make split-screen games playable enough! If so, this definitely might finally be replacing my XBone!
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think the whole better graphics thing is harming the video game industry. I would rather have fun simple completed games than visually amazing hot garbage (like most of the releases these days) I like more the approach nintendo is having on gaming (at least on the game design side), and I think series s is Microsoft going in the right direction with a cheap system anyone can afford. Videogames shouldn't be a luxury.
I'm pretty sure the charger my phone is currently charging on has more computing power than my first pc and that played games. My point is if you give game Devs too much power they get lazy if it's a bit limited just code better. It's affordable and that's good for people
I want to get a console soon, but I can only get one. I want either series s or the switch but i can't decide which one. I really like the games on both consoles.
Performance what’s better 512gb series s or this series s 1TB ? As far as gaming picture quality what to choose if I don’t have 4K TV but I Want The Best Quality Still ,?
I’m still on the fence for a current gen system I lean towards the Series S (I have an older 42 1080p TV no plans to upgrade) but some days I say I’ll wait and buy a PS5 when I decide to get a new system Still rocking my PS4 and Xbox 360 haha
I believe the series s checks a lot of boxes and gets the job done very well for the average gamer and all at a price point that you really can’t beat. I’m really rooting for the more affordable options like this console that really gives everyone a chance to just have some fun playing some video games.
Damn that matte black looks good! So far I've been nothing but impressed with how capable today's consoles are. Got the PS5 and the graphical capabilities are insane, and I LOVE the super fast SSD.
I was super close to upgrading to a series x, mostly for starfield. But i held out to see what it looked like on the series s. Im glad i did. I saw the digital foundry comparison and i was impressed by the s. Played starfield on my s and my pc with synced save files. Looks great on both
I think the Series S is a very good console. Its just that the developers just dont want to optimize the game for the series S or even X(they just use the power of the X to get the desired fps)
If I didn’t have 2 XSX in my home (my bedroom, my sons’ room) I’d def get a 1TB Series S. It’s powerful and now with more storage. My nephews love the Series S 512 I passed down to them so it has us all in the Xbox ecosystem. I also own a Switch and PS5 so no console wars here just a casual gamer house.
I guess if not for the fact it doesn't have a disk drive.. Its still worth buying considering how powerful it is.. Always enjoying kenson consoles reviews.. Just the best.. 👏👏👏
If they fixed the storage issue on the Series S and released a disc drive addon you can plug into it and play physical hames and movies than the Series S would be a great deal.
I get other’s gripes with the system, but as somebody that slowly fell out of xbox/play station as I got older it’s been an awesome way to play new releases on game pass for a month, then cancel the subscription until the next game I want to play comes out. I would have just skipped the xbox/play station generation all together without this lower entry price point.
Finally, a black series S. I have the original series. S mine is 12 months old. I have the original series X mine is six months old. I’m definitely going to try and add this to the collection.
Got mine but tired of mostly 3rd party games refusing to do 60 FPS on the S and X. Might honestly make the upgrade seeing as the X is more available now. I am typically not finding this problem with the first party games. IE the new Forza motorsport will be 60 FPS, regardless of which Xbox your on.
Spending $100 extra dollars on 500GB of extra hard drive is crazy. The "holiday" edition of the console was on sale for months after Christmas passed at retailers like walmart, so this is a big jump over what people could have easily picked up the other version for. I can't imagine this going on sale right after it comes out for the holiday season, but it needs to be cheaper
I have the holiday version you're talking about, was $230 new at Walmart, but I sent that in with 2 months of the 1 year warranty left to get shipped a new console, got the black one for more space and because it looks better, and if they happen to send me another 1tb version because of the letter I wrote complaining about issues, then I'm making my money back completely, not the best thing to do but easy way to make your money back and basically get a free console after all of that
@@mohnidgichki494 what garbage? They made a next gen console for less than $300 that's better optimized than the ps5, the all digital ps5 is gonna be a little better because it costs more but the only thing better is barely the 300gbs of storage, only garbage is that comment you made
@@josephhall7317got all 3 of the new gen consoles and the series s is by far the worst of the bunch but it’s still a great portable gaming console especially for the cheaper prices

here's the thing I can appreciate about the series S, its the fact it gives people a chance to enjoy these next gen titles at an affordable price that is very generous as next gen consoles go, but I can not stress enough how dangerous this future can become if not handled better, cause while the series S is a great option that still doesn't make it a good one for just the overall long run for physical media as a whole, not to mention the fact this thing still doesn't have a detachable disc drive just to throw the option out there for people who have physical games just shows where the gaming industry just stands as a whole
Thank you for posting this video. I have a series S in my bedroom and a series X in my gaming room. The S is a phenomenal console and the games look really good for how much that console costs. And there’s way too many clout chasing ‘devs’ and fan boys on social media who constantly say it’s ‘holding back gaming’ while also never using the Series S. If you actually used one, you wouldn’t think that. And any console that is inexpensive enough to get more people to play games, just like the $400 Steamdeck, is a good thing.
I started with the S and what sold me was the fact i can still play my x360 games on the X Honestly if i had the space, i would use the S as a smart TV
It really comes down to years down the road, when it will ultimately not be good enough for the new flagship games coming out. If you aren’t worried about that, get the s series.
you support physical media though most games on disc dont have the full game and or dont work without a constant connection so what'll you do when they fully move away from disc ?
@@davnez05 I’ll hold out until I have no choice. Most games I purchase do have the full game on disc so for now I get to continue to purchase them physically.
Physical media video games is slowly but surely dying year upon year. And eventually so will the disc drives to run physical media from. The vast majority of people buying have already decided that. Digital download is already here and is the future. As a disabled video games player I only buy video games these days as digital download. As it is far easier for me than going into town, to buy a video game at a retailer. Personally I still buy films and TV series on physical DVD discs. And have several DVD players. But I know one day to come they will become obsolete.
Pre Ordered mine and extremely happy with it so far and GPU is FREAKING Fantastic, an insane value. I like the black colour scheme had the One S but sold it as soon as the X/S was revealed but just didn't manage to get a Series S until now and with the needed 1TB-825GB i'll have enough space to play the games i want without worrying with the previous model. And with Lies of P, STARFIELD, and Forza Motorsport all coming out soon i'm gonna be STACKED.
I got the series s being mainly a ps5 player. It’s affordable which is a plus and I’m not gonna play only xbox so just for playing the exclusives it’s great. With Bethesda games and especially the recently announced Blade game coming only for xbox it’s great. The series X is a lot more powerful but for people who wanna experience both PlayStation and XBOX exclusives it’s a good affordable solution for people who don’t play every game released on an xbox console but still good for the big games coming to the console exclusively.
I finally bit the bullet and picked up the new white 1 tb version (not even on sale) and wow. It's really cool. My TV is not amazing but it's a 42" TCL 4K with HDR 10 and 60hz refresh. I took the time to calibrate the TV and HDR to the XBox and then downloaded fired up the nextest gen game I own, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (MFS2024 is absolutely broken OR unfinished and I'm glad I didn't buy it yet) and it's mind blowing. Before anyone says "not mind blowing" no, yeah it's actually mind blowing from where I'm coming from. For a relatively small TV Series S IS mind blowing. It looks so good.
I use to bring my one x when I travelled or switch but now I'm just packing my one s have my one x in the bedroom SX downstairs and my switch is mostly for Football Manager these days and RE saga
I have this alongside a PS5, and if I want the best experience I buy a PS5 copy. But frankly game pass is so good I canceled PS Plus, and I use this thing a lot more than I thought I would
It can be, but there are some games that don’t get 60 FPS. The new Star Wars Jedi game is one of them. It looks really good, but it’s only 30 FPS for now. If that’s not a major deal for you, then it’s perfect!

I can only recommend it, a great concept imo
what about the storage? how it is
@@pakteus For my particular playstyle, it's not an issue. I mainly play singleplayer titles with a dash of indies and I tend to delete the ones I've finished. This way I never had to make space for anything, but if you play multiplayer games with huge file sizes like CoD, you might wanna consider the X.
Dude this is really the reason why I bought my series S, I got a ps5 for my setup and got my S to travel around to like friends houses

Agreed. If you're a Hardcore Gamer™️ and like having multiple consoles around the house, the Series S is such an awesome thing to have to compliment a Series X. It's not me, but tons of people just want a simple box that plays CoD and 1-2 sports games and the Series S does that very well

I have the Series S 1TB with an external hard drive. Performance is insane and with a good monitor it's probably the best.

Exactly. ☮️
Between the Switch, Steam Deck, and Series S, lower spec hardware is pretty much a non-issue. So many people these days don't need state of the line visuals to have a good time
Only when it comes to exclusives. Does this apply. Xbox won’t drop parity on first parties.

Ps5 is my main, but recently I picked up a series s for the bedroom with game pass, and I’m loving it. Even cancelled my ps plus now.
Being an all digital system is an instant deal breaker for me.
I have to say I totally love the design of the Series S. When I inevitably upgrade to the Series X, i think for the first time in my console owning history, Im not gonna trade the S in. Ill probably keep it in the upstairs living room with the Switches.

I can't believe how much more i played with it. I almost went back to my golden Ps1 years (Im 39)
The vastness of titles that gamepass ultimate has, im replaying halo that only played a little bit with my friends old xbox years ago, the old gears of war.
It holds current gen games back just like the last gen consoles hold back games made to play on all systems.

here's the thing I can appreciate about the series S, its the fact it gives people a chance to enjoy these next gen titles at an affordable price that is very generous as next gen consoles go, but I can not stress enough how dangerous this future can become if not handled better, cause while the series S is a great option that still doesn't make it a good one for just the overall long run for physical media as a whole, not to mention the fact this thing still doesn't have a detachable disc drive just to throw the option out there for people who have physical games just shows where the gaming industry just stands as a whole

I started with the S and what sold me was the fact i can still play my x360 games on the X
Honestly if i had the space, i would use the S as a smart TV
I got my series s during that time when the new console were hard to get. I got it off eBay. I thought I was gonna get a George Forman Grill. 😅
It really comes down to years down the road, when it will ultimately not be good enough for the new flagship games coming out. If you aren’t worried about that, get the s series.
No physical media support = no purchase from me. I’m old school like that so the Series S has never been an attractive purchase for me.
you support physical media though most games on disc dont have the full game and or dont work without a constant connection so what'll you do when they fully move away from disc ?
@@cubertzeronot many modern games are all on a disc 😅
Why is split screen so difficult to get working? I used to play 4 Player split screen cod and zombies with the boys in the Xbox 360 days.
I use mine as an emulator box since I have a Series X as well
I bought a series s around Christmas season when it was $250 and got a 2tb WD external hard drive for around $75. Im good.
The all black looks awesome!
I’ve had a ps5 since launch and just decided to sell it for this console it was a very good decision especially for game pass ultimate
I have this alongside a PS5, and if I want the best experience I buy a PS5 copy. But frankly game pass is so good I canceled PS Plus, and I use this thing a lot more than I thought I would
So if you play on a gaming monitor, the series s is probably the best option, right?
It can be, but there are some games that don’t get 60 FPS. The new Star Wars Jedi game is one of them. It looks really good, but it’s only 30 FPS for now.
If that’s not a major deal for you, then it’s perfect!
@@Haybud speaking of Star Wars they just updated that game yesterday to do 60fps!!!
