Thanks once again Steph for making the NEC Classic Motor Show available for those who can't be there in person. Congratulations on getting Speedy the Standard 10 there. 😊👍
I agree. So interesting to know the story behind the vehicles rather than rushing around trying to see everything (which can be frustrating as I often see something in the background that I wish the presenter would stop and look at). Well done Steph.
As always, thanks so much for your tireless + cheerful work promoting appreciation + use of classic cars! Great pleasure to chat with you once again, and delighted to show off the 20,000-mile '49 Minor before we have to ship it back to the States.
What a fantastic show! Absolute privilege to meet you in person, and to sit in Speedy was the icing on the cake! Made my day! ( My mate Steve had the cat on his hoodie! I was the old one-Robert, and Jamie was the other one of our trio!) So much to see; I was pretty bushed by the time we left! Great video, as always!
Dear Steph, Greetings from Virginia, USA. What an absolutely amazing car show! We just started restoring our 1987 Mazda 626GT Turbo (aka "Silver") and hope to have her running by Spring next year. Silver's story begins when I bought her in February, 1987, after having just completed a Mediteranean deployment in the US Navy. The day I picked up Silver at the dealership was also the day I picked up my fiancee Annie (a true English rose from Surrey) at Norfolk International airport. You are absolutely right about the friendliness of people you meet at car shows. Most of the folks we have met are into US muscle cars but their eyes do light up when we tell them about our project. They wish us luck in addition to helpful advice and encouragement. We'd love to hear from any other Mazda 626 owners, either in the US, UK or Europe. Looking forward to your next VLOG. Cheers!
I really want to drive an FSO Polonez one day (next to the 125p pick up truck). Fun fact: the FSO pick up truck had a list price of a rock bottom £2,999 in the late 1980s.
Such a pleasure to meet you again, it was great to see Speedy in the metal, recommissioning an old Standard at short notice was always going to be extremely difficult, but you persevered and made it.
Well done Steph and everyone to get the Standard 10 to the show! I love the interviews with the people who have the cars, some brilliant stories. The low headlight Minor tale was brilliant. Many thanks for sharing.
Steph thank you for mentioning mobility for people attending, I have a condition where I can’t stand for more than about 30 minutes which makes travel a challenge, very considerate of you to mention it 😊
Wonderful.....................thank you Steph.........................Hope to get there next year..........................we are only 40 minutes away from the NEC.........
Thank you for taking us around the NEC show. It is much more enjoyable to hear peoples stories as to why they have a particular vehicle and some of the history behind it than just say looking at a static car stand. So glad you got Speedy to the show Steph well done to all who 'chipped in' to help make that happen. 👍👍
Thanks for this Steph, great video. This is the only way for me to see the show, being in Canada. However, the icing on the cake was to see Speedy the Standard! Absolutely love your little Standard.
A really amazing show a real must for any classic car fan or any person with only a passing interest. Saw you yesterday about 5.30 but said I'd leave you alone as it was late. Keep up the great content you are a natural.
What a show! I’ve never been before. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you briefly just before the start on Friday as I made my way round to the P6 Rover Owners Club stand in hall 3. I told you about my one family owned 1974 P6 3500S, that lives in West Yorkshire. I always enjoy your content and keep up the great work! 👏👍
Brilliant stuff steph I spent a few hours wondering around the nec this year and it Brilliant hearing so many interesting stories much better than just wondering round looking at the cars like a lot of TH-cam channels 👌bye the way your looking great steph 👍🏻👏
Gutted I couldnt go this year as I thoroughly enjoyed last years show. Your vid has more than made up for it, love that youve looked at the stories behind the vehicles ❤
Thanks for sharing, Steph. Although I'll never get to go there, i feel like you shared the best cars and their owners. Glad to hear the Standard made it too.
It was another wonderful show and I’m glad I came again this year. It was also lovely to see Speedy at last and wonderful to catch up with you again Steph, you looked fabulous as always.
Great show, great report. I love the TV detector van, it really made me laugh. I doubt they ever worked but there was only 2-3 channels in those days so you could guess what channel someone was watching & you'd be right 1/3 of the time. If they own up; bingo! Knock on ten doors, get a couple of presecutions & you've made your money for the day.
Not so, it was very easy to identify which frequency the receiver was operating on and therefore the channel being watched. It's the same today, television receivers emit so much EMF that a detector with suitable equipment can pick it up using a directional antenna that can identify a single television in a street where there are many. TVs were once clad in thin wood, and now plastic, so there is very little to prevent the high frequency signals from escaping.
Went today ! First time I’ve been . Wow it’s big. One day isn’t enough! My hips were agony - only managed halls 1-4 and 8 ! Was hoping to see you Steph . Saw Mrs Hubnut and classic Britain but both busy chatting !
Great video Steph. I love your approach to classics - if anyone is going to make me make the jump to getting a classic, it’s you. Moved from a flat last year to a house with a drive and garage - can’t fit a modern car in the garage, but you know what would fit……. 😀. I feel a growing urge to make the plunge.
Great show as ever but over so soon. I didn't get back to your stand to have a better look at Speedy. Thanks for featuring 8 Ball Paul and the Women Drivers Club stand. It was a brilliant show for us.
Hi Steph, good vlog from the show, so much easier to do before all the crowds get in there. The Blue Triumph Dolomite 1850 in the line up near the beginning belongs to a new friend of mine, Simon Easton. I enjoyed meeting you on the Saturday and the little chat we had. It wasn't until I reviewed the photos I took of your "Speedy" that I realised you had added a roof rack! Great that you made it ok. Now after today get some well deserved rest and look after yourself. Take care, Jon Barnes, from Suffolk.
Speedy's looking well. Great video and great cars. And a note of appreciation for "Our Steph" herself. The hair, the makeup, the outfit all dove-tailed perfectly. A classic of her own kind.
Well done Steph. l dare say you're completely exhausted after stayingup until 5.30 p.m to get the car finished ! I came last year with a good friend but all he wanted to do was look at Ford Capri's ! Thanks Steph .
It's lovely to see Speedy at the NEC, along with her new roof rack! You and her are looking great. I loved the TV detector van. I always thought they were a myth and never really existed.
I really must plan to go to this show next year. I do have a good excuse for missing it today, this morning I drove from Norwich to Glasgow to see Deep Purple tonight!
Those Minors are lovely. If I recall correctly 1949 was the only year for low-light Minors in Canada; US cars were all high-light models from early on because of the then-new 7” sealed beam laws. Not surprised Mr Voelcker is there! I was thrilled to find a very late U.S. car for sale just a couple of miles from me. Sadly I was beaten to it!
Hi Steph fantastic video and brought back great memories of the last couple day I spent at the classic car show. I loved chatting with you and also all the great people I met on the various stands also about the fantastic advise I got about my potential first foray into owing a classic car. Once again great video and kook forward to your future videos too. Andrew 😊 ps from what I'm looking into I think I will be looking very closely at an Alvis TA14.
Firstly it's good to see your Standard 10 made it to the show as your intention and that original BMW lsetta were other BMW lsetta owners can use this original BMW lsetta as a reference point
Hello @idriveaclassic I'm a new subscriber from California. I love ALL types of automobiles, from A to Z and beyond. My neighbor Charles told me all about your spectacular channel. I am glad to be aboard. Looking forward to be in the driver's seat and "Rev Up The Engine's" ⚡ ZOOM! ZOOM! ZOOM! ⚡
15:20 -- the yellow Isetta. I had a 1958 model in my youth and put 13000 miles on it before it threw a piston. Cruise @ 37 mph, never more although it could do just over 50. If going on a long trip it paid to carry spare petrol as on steep hills it could conk out through fuel starvation. Being gravity fed was the cause and topping the tank up cured the problem and off you went again! But one day out in the middle of the wop-wops it flipped its lid and at the time, 1969, the $300 it would have cost to repair with genuine BMW parts, was well above its market value, so my dad had a Honda stationary engine fitted and used it for the short hop to his work. Col, NZ
Oh goodness, the Dodge at 1.30. Reminds me of my dad's Commer Autosleeper camper van (even though it was orange!) Wish we'd still got it! RIP SLL471F (unless someone else has it now!)
My first car in high school here in Texas was a white Isetta. What is different with our friends in the UK is that three wheel version. I don’t think we ever had those over here and mine had four wheels. I agree with the gentleman that that does not need restoring.
Hi Steph. Hope your doing good. That was a very cool video. I loved all of those cars. Keep up the awesome videos. Hopefully you were able to see Ben at Dadcars.
I may well be completely wrong about this but it seems to me Canadian accents are becoming more American when at one time they were distinctly different.
@caw25sha This gent's accent was very distinctly Canadian. Having lived in Canada around 30 years myself, I could tell right away. There are regional accents in both Canada and USA and yes they do sometimes blend.
Steph are you using Adobe Premiere to edit videos? When the camera is panning at (for example) 14:29 I think that speeding up and slowing down is caused by the "Sequence Settings" not matching the FPS of the video. In Premiere it can be set before editing with "Sequence > Sequence Settings". When exporting there's also a button under the Video tab saying something like "Match Source" that should fix it. If you're not using Premiere then I don't know. The erratic panning makes me dizzy though. 😂 *Still great vids of course!* I downloaded this video and it's at 29.970 FPS. Maybe the input video was at 30 FPS? Sorry just trying to help 😛
Great meeting you at the NEC. Keep doing what you are doing. Nothing beats accessible, entertaining, classic car-related content.
Thanks once again Steph for making the NEC Classic Motor Show available for those who can't be there in person. Congratulations on getting Speedy the Standard 10 there. 😊👍
love the stories makes the whole classic car ownership a lot more real
And beautifully interviewed
Thank you for taking the time to put this together

Steph and HubNut, that`s the neighbourhood where we all should live, peacefully... Cheers from Linz, Austria!! 😎
Steph thank you for mentioning mobility for people attending, I have a condition where I can’t stand for more than about 30 minutes which makes travel a challenge, very considerate of you to mention it 😊
Great video, and an interesting angle, that Isetta story is incredible, good to hear it will be kept as is.

Never in court has evidence been used to prosecute people based on 'detector' van evidence.
thaks for sharing, looking glamorous Steph!
Thanks For Showing Us Around ----------- Very Cool Show ------------ From Your Friends In Arizona ------- Speedy Looks Sharp
I knew that you would make it and get Speedy to the NEC! Well done, Steph, and for sharing the show with us. ❤
That car show looks brilliant! If I didn't live 450 miles away I'd love to be there
you are looking so well at present, I hope you are feeling good too!
A really amazing show a real must for any classic car fan or any person with only a passing interest. Saw you yesterday about 5.30 but said I'd leave you alone as it was late. Keep up the great content you are a natural.
Such a great presentation of a show I hope to attend sometime. Thanks Steph!
Great video Steph and some interesting people and cars.
i'm so glad you made it , well done to everyone concerned 👏

Sadly this show is unaffordable for me, thanks for allowing a peek inside.
❤another brilliant show Steph❤

Great video as usual your enthusiasm and chats with the exhibitors hits the spot

Great video as always Steph! ❤
Well done Steph on getting speedy to the show your both looking great, just waiting for more speedy videos,❤️👍👍.
I remember the ads back in 70s TV detector vans put the fear of god in you, they are still trying their best to scare folk.
We're you there on Friday we saw your standard , shame we missed you. The 10 was my star of the show! It looks great in the flesh.
Looks like a great show! I appreciate the focus on “humble” cars.
The earth is round, we landed on the moon, but detector vans are nonsense! Great video, Steph.
26 minutes... went by so fast. Great report, nice people, small german cars and Steph in colourful dresses. Wundervoll! Dankeschön! ♥♥♥
Really enjoyed this Steph, your interaction with the owners to get the vehicles story is so cool😊
Well done. Thank you.
Great show as always.
Great to see you and Speedy at the show yesterday (Saturday) 😎
Speedy's looking well. Great video and great cars. And a note of appreciation for "Our Steph" herself. The hair, the makeup, the outfit all dove-tailed perfectly. A classic of her own kind.

Super show ..and was great to meet you in person..😊 hope you enjoy the standard magazine
Great film & great interviews. Nice outfits, your beehive looks like something out of a sci-fi fantasy. Dune - the Prophecy!
I really must plan to go to this show next year. I do have a good excuse for missing it today, this morning I drove from Norwich to Glasgow to see Deep Purple tonight!
Thanks, at 18:52 we are the C5 guys! 😊

Wish I could have got there - looks great - and so does Speedy.
19:02 "People often spend more than the vehicle is worth."
cough Bella cough 😂
I love your Standard 10. I wish I was in the UK to go to the NEC
what a load of old bollocks those tv detector vans were. great vid.
It might be rather off topic, but besides from all the cars looking good, you look smashing too Steph. I hope you feel as good as you look 👍
The detector van didn’t work it was nonsense
Detector van 😅😂 total gimmick no way that ever worked, drove them around to scare people !
The Show looks great Steph, had to miss it due to a bit of car trouble ❤
Nice review Steph..
The dodge TV van just a commer van isn't it
Lovely video. Nice to chat today too.
Glad to see you made it there with Speedy!

People have to stop saying ''to be honest''. It's like: the rest of the time I'm not honest, but I'll make an exception this time.

At around 5:15, could tell immediately the gent is Canadian, since I'm Canadian and British myself.

My son is working at the show.
Are they still charging for the carpark ?
Yep. £13.95 i think we paid in advance, more if not bought in advance
Like a wounded rhino I should imagine. I used the train, gets you almost to the door 😀

Great to see Speedy there - did Speedy get there under his own power? (As an aside, 'Speedy' was a nickname given to someone I was at school with!)
👍
When will there be a video of the rest of the work on your standard 10 ?
Next week! I’ve been working all nighters and lates to get my lovely lady finished.
Some saucy stuff on the parcel shelf there? 15:40
