3/4 cup softened unsalted butter 4 oz. cream cheese Whip together in stand mixer using a paddle attachment 2 lb. powdered sugar Add to butter slowly 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream 1 tsp. vanilla, can use clear vanilla to keep the color of the buttercream light optional: A LITTLE pure lemon extract to enhance the lemon flavor a little salt 1/4 cup or more or less to taste fresh lemon juice Add more powered sugar or cream / juice to achieve desired consistency

I always play with recipes ..... For this one, I increased the cream cheese and reduced the butter to equal parts each (thus eliminating the heavy cream). I added 1/4 cup LIME juice and one tablespoon of zest. Instead of vanilla extract, I used organic lime extract. Plus a few drops of green food coloring. I used this to frost key lime brownies. Yum!
Butter confusion , i think i cracked it . She says 12 oz of butter but we can see she puts 2 sticks in , which are 8 oz , and then she puts 4 oz of cream cheese . total being 12 oz . As she says you can swap out the cream cheese with butter so I think she meant total should be 12 oz ( all butter or combo of butter and cream cheese )

Just to clarify, is it supposed to be 12 TBL of butter, and not ounces? That would equal 3/4 cup... but 12 oz would be three full sticks
My buttercream separates & is really gritty how do I fix that so I dont have to buy store bought icing
Made it, it got curdled, water separated from butter. Added more sugar but will taste way too sweet
