Delivered to Jet airways as VTJEG served for 9w and Gulf air and was leased to Etihad under A6-JAE for 2 yrs again came back to Jet airways as VT JEX.
VT JEX landed in Chennai on 29 SEP 2018 since then it was parked in Chennai without any hope finally it was moved last year and salvaged for parts.
The video is a tribute to the aircraft parked in Chennai for 2 long years. Every day when I come to work I look at it from the long distance.
Even though it is sad that it could never fly again it is a relief that aircraft won't be left to rot like other grounded airlines aircraft. It will be useful as parts and spares. #Jetairwaysnews,

I have travelled in this from Mumbai - Abu Dhabi when it was leased to etihad. What a beauty of a plane it is.

Apart from ModiLuft, Damania, EastWest Airline, Jet was amongst the better airlines from the private sector in India.

Unless I am mistaken, JAI/9W did not have any fatal loss of on-board passengers or crew in any incident or accident.

I was a bit taken aback at getting this video recommended in my feeds, because just earlier in the day (Thursday, May 16, 2024) I had been reading the news of Missus Anita Goyal succumbing to cancer. She was the spouse of the founder Mister Naresh Goyal (himself a cancer patient).
From the passing of this majestic 777 300 ER to the passing of a key person within the Jet Group.

I always feel like leading companies or others who own these can at-least consider preserving the hull and finding someone who might be interested in turning it into a museum, restaurant, theme park or some other type of display.. than to complete scrap it for recycling.
It is still sad 9w couldn't find a way to come back.
Apart from small incidents 9w didn't have any major accidents with life loss. Although their ATR was written off due to Hull loss

What had have happened, if government of India, released it's bailout package for Jet Airways, will it still flying, or it may be declared the government property? What do you think? If government have next chance to Honorable Kingfisher Airlines, for flying again with clearing all their debts as they cleared the debts of Airindia. No any government company, can receive their complete payment but cleared them through legal shell company, to it fit for flying in free sky. Is it fair, to promote the IAS, IES including their family members as well as their relative in free flying ticket in Airindia. Is this fair, regarding companies policy. When JRD Tata was the chairman of Airindia, it was no.1 flying company, and Singapore airlines is no. 2, in world view but in domestic view, Kingfisher Airlines was only no.2 flying company, they sell their tickets in cheapest price. No one can manage like Dr. Vijay Mallya do. He is star, and King of Good Times! It's all my feelings about the aviation company in India as well as a little world view!

Highly skilled professionals must be needed. One time, Dr. Mallya said that they have maintained the operating cost of his loving funliner as they said to his Kingfisher Airlines! But no one cares about the high quality rather than justify them from one and only PRICE. What happened after the aircraft was scrapped?
Sold for parts and scrap
And why they decided to scrap the plane?
It was one of the first aircraft to get grounded. Over 2 yrs it was parked and it was found it cannot be brought back to flying condition. So they scrapped it.
13 years of operation is not much time for this aircraft, and the general life expectancy of a Boeing plane can go from 20 to 50 years in flying condition, unless if criminals intentionally destroyed a chunk of the airplane. Or if it crashed.
Do you know any proofs of the total loss of this plane?
