You know what works well. i just had to go over a concrete slab that was horrendous, it was an 1 1/4" out at the doorway, and 3/4" sloping to the left. I use a 1/2" dowel and on a chop saw, it's so easy to cut the dowel to whatever height you need, and I hot glue it to the concrete. I usually just throw some out in the field, and use tape over expansion joint on the wall for my perimeter height, or just a sharpie on the expansion joint. You two always do great work

I’m a DIY’er with a lot of appreciation for your videos. Noticed you use Ditra in a lot of your bathroom videos but tiled to the actual concrete (I think?) in the bathroom remodel at your house. I’m on concrete as well and wondering if I could skip the Ditra part? Would love your advice
Hi Schannon I am about to do my very first pour. I am a 60 yr old lady DIYer!!! I have been watching you videos and need some advice. I have a gap between the floor and my acrylic tub, right in the middle. Corners of tub are good and level. Before I pour, would you suggest shimming and then a spray form bracing. This was a suggestion made to me.
The couple times that I have poured self leveler I mixed in the amount of water recommended on that bag (on the high end) but it never flowed that well. About how much water do ya'll use for level quick RS?
Hello Schannon, I hope I spelled your name right😊; anyway, would it be a good idea to put a floor drain in your restroom floor, and just “shower pan” the whole restroom, for cleaning purposes??? I know a lot of commercial building public restrooms have a floor drain by default, but not too many home restrooms have a floor drain. I just think it’s very practical to have a drain on your restroom.

I put on my respirator or mask and use my shop vac to blow dust and little boogies off the floor before I roll out
