It's incredible how much depth and thought can go into some that's "just a pile of candy". The way that the fear of touching the candy and the weight of the candy itself depleting refrences AIDS is completely genius. Something really unique and beautiful here.

I forgot about this channel! I first followed y'all in 2013 when I was in an art history class. Gonna start watching again now. Thank you for your persistent good work!

It would be cool to see a time-lapse of the depletion of candy.

I've seen this work discussed before, but never so well! Thanks as always for your insight.

This work changed the way I think about art. I fell in love with FGT when I saw this work

As a gay man this made me cry. I was in HS in the early 90s. I remember the world I was afraid was my future. Simple but powerful.

    CANDY! 😆
This artist is speaking my language, though I am challenged by the idea of this being considered "art." I think of Duchamp at moments like this and his shovel would be the perfect accompaniment to this piece, lol.

Well, it's more like a thought experiment than what I would consider a piece of art. Frankly, that word gets tossed around so loosely now-a-days it devalues what the meaning of art is. I prefer they just say 'installations' which is ultimately what they are.

I feel like it's more abstract performance art. In my opinion, the meaning of Art will always change from person to person, and the fact that such things can be considered Art expands our inherent sense of human creativity.
