Patricia is the second most intense tropical cyclone recorded and had windspeeds peaking at 215mph (345 kmh) and pressaure ratings of 872 mbar. Haiyan peaked at 195mph (315 kmh) and pressaure was mesaured at 895 mbars. Patricia was stronger, but it had such a sort span of life it couldn't do as much damage. Haiyan had a massive storm surge build up and matained it's Cat 5 status for a long time, building up a massive storm surge, high sustained wind speeds and rainfall which made it more damaging.
Hurricane Patricia was stronger but lived only for a very short time. Haiyan on the other hand was slightly weaker but sustained its strength for an eternity compared to Patricia.
