I used to work with a guy that did Rossi's garden. He reckons he's a top bloke. He used to chat to the gardeners and bring refreshments out - coffee, beer and all kinds of other "refreshments" which were not conducive to good gardening practices. But a really nice guy by all accounts....
Such a lovely guy and always eloquently dressed. I met him in the street in Manchester many decades ago and he winked as we passed. I wished I'd have stopped him for a quick chat.

Likewise! I must admit that I find it strange that Rossi hasn't expressed much sadness about Rick's passing when being interviewed. I know that their friendship had diminished quite considerably during the later years of Quo, and more so in the last few of years leading up to Rick's death, for various reasons. However, I still find it strange that Rossi seems to show very little emotion when questioned on the subject.
I had three children,hardly seen them I was an Engineer in the Merchant Navy and away months every year for 14 years of their lives, i was at all the births.

His voice was always the voice of Status Quo. Sadly, Shaky needs to pack it in!! Quo fans were literally booing him...and rightly so! Francis gave the fans, Shaky's tiny contingent too, their money's worth. Top, charismatic chap!
He & Rick once said if anything happened to either of them that would be the end of Quo. Now he has U turned,, again, and yet the FRQ fans, aka as sheep can only offer the truly pathetic "he changed his mind" bullshit! I dont buy their bullshit and I certainly dont buy FRQ, there are much better trib bands than FRQ!!

The last time 12/2022 in a town with 50000 inhabitants. It was the 4th gig in this Westgerman town, with 3000 people. More people as before. The mood was great. Jethro Tull startet in the late 60's too. But look, who is in the band now, I think 4 members not longer than 2 or 10 years. And it works. They were in the Top 5 with their new cd here in Germany. OK, why not. Rick is dead since 2016 and since that time I am reading boring comments like no Rick, no Quo. Is that your onliest problem? Let them play, all the other old bands Foreigner, Uriah Heep and so on are doing the same, with their (new) musicians. All 10 years SQ is History. And then long live Hip hop.

Having heard Quo since, my opinion is that they have lost the magic between Rick and Fran on stage. So, don't lecture me on Quo. 600 fans in the audience? I remember when it was 10,000 to 12,000. That speaks for itself.
Rossi has joined the Rod Stewart, Elton John, Mick Jagger and John Lydon club. All legends in their own right but for gods sake give it up, its over and done
for me, personally, I don't mind him carrying on with Status Quo. The "Backbone" album is great, I think! BUT, I do understand your viewpoint. What I think is that it boils down to money. Basically, "Status Quo" sells more than "Francis Rossi". Seems resonable to me.
