      Omg... how can it be... when we have a bundle of joy in our hands...the reason for depression may be some other external factor but not definitely from delivering a baby. We may be working hard infact it won't be tiring too.

    • @DoveSharma

      @@shobana1895 Ive seen this very closely. It is true.
      Have you heard of prisoners depression? It happens when long term prisoners end thwir time and go free. There is a strong lack of purpose that hits human beings at high times too.
      And postpartum depression is more hormonally driven than emotionally. It happens due to the sudden massive change in the female body after the delivery.

      What I liked mostly in malayalam cinema is stories that are inclusive of everyone. Even if women are central to movie it's mostly about telling good stories that happen to have women as core of the film. In bollywood it's heroine centric and or basically there's no story, just having women for some reason for whole duration of movie that talks alot but actually has nothing to say that's relatable.

    Had so much fun watching this interview.. one of the best! ❤️ Agree with Nithya, we have seen lots of movies about abuse and hardships of women. You are aware that in bollywood, there are very good actresses like Tabu, Neena Gupta, Alia, Huma, Tapsee and Kangana but the content rooted with Indian culture and tradition is missing both on screen and off screen. People like you have the power to reach them and advise them to be Indian than American in thinking and living.

    Talking about spectacle films having success at box office, its nothing to do with gender as black panther 2 movie was largely driven by women, unknown face for a villain. Despite that people in India made this movie, when the cast are not typical hollywood superstars, a big success. Yes it's comic action entertainer genre so it's theatre experience film but at the end of the day the story counts. Also there are male centric films that have gone to ott and not theaters because if story is for niche audience regardless of who the actor or actress is it'll find it's audience through ott. If story has commercial value placed on it then it'll get theatrical release.

    • @gayathrimanoj1617
      @gayathrimanoj1617 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion, you can't compare Wakanda Forever to this purely because Wakanda Forever has a history-mqking prequel, it's a Marvel movie and has some really big names attached to it, it is something people were already looking forward to before they could even announce it! A first-time movie, on the other hand, would be completely independent in that sense and so it is natural to expect a very different reaction or acceptance to it. Not to mention how the audience here is still only getting used to watching women take up space and be more than just someone in the male lead's life. No matter how much we speak about it here, at the end of the day, the masses still haven't reached a level of acceptance or maturity where they watch a movie purely for the content and art. It is still (unfortunately) highly gender-based. People would much rather prefer going for a male ensemble or mae thriller than one with people from other genders.
      Trust me, I know it is beautiful to not have gender as a criterion for such decisions and I'd love for the audience to grow to that kind of an approach. But we're not there yet. Some of us here are striving for it and let's hope that happens soon

    • @PeaceAkaShanti
      @PeaceAkaShanti ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Menon’s worked under Brahmins looking after their property. Menokii or Menon was a title given to supervisors. Individuals inheriting the surname of Menon these days from birth is similar to case of taking on the Doctor /Dr. title of father who studied and got Ph.D title. Poor father worked hard for the title and rest of generation are using his title as a freebie.
      All the people who talk against sexism and fight for equality should relinquish their caste title for good. Caste is the vestige of an unequal society where human’s were graded by birth rather than their own contribution to the society.
