This video was done for the 3rd Mandovi Bridge’s Inauguration, it is now called Atal Setu. The bridge is on the Mandovi river at Panjim Goa.
The bridge was a Dream project of the Honourable Chief Minister of Goa Mr. Manohar Parrikar. No project of this scale has ever been done in Goa. It’s truly monumental and a landmark of modern Goa.
After looking at the virtual walk through of the project, I was inspired to take up my Dream Assignment to cover Goa's Dream Project. The medium chosen is video in time lapse shoots. L&T the planning and construction company did their best to execute it in midst of the capital city’s traffic congestion.
I had to be on alert 24x7 on the development of project at different locations and pick up my spot and time to be present for the shoot. The work presented in the video was planned shoot from January 2016 to January 2019. Shoots include day as well as night shoots, in summer and some in the rainy season. There were more than 3,50,000 frames of time lapse and the data collected was occupying 820 GB of hard disk space. Shoots are still on.
Mandovi Riverfront location has become a must visit tourist attraction in Goa. Mondovi Riverfront also extended the venue for IFFI, International Film Festival of India, and Atal Setu adds a monumental Background to it.
