- If you ever wondered what it would be like if the She Ra reboot characters had the voices of their 80s counterparts... wonder no more.

Unless you can pull up a verified source to confirm it, your claim is rejected. The only 'gay' characters in 80s children's shows were coded, but never explicitly stated as gay. You simply could not make gay characters on shows like that. If you did, you'd get taken off the air. Also, it can't be something after the fact like saying one animator thought the design was gay, and was quoted as saying so in like 2013 or something.

Nobody cared if an employee was gay, it was the FICTIONAL CHARACTERS IN A CHILDREN'S SHOW that couldn't be openly gay. It wasn't even because of an anti-gay agenda, the executives just didn't want to deal with parents bombarding them with 'gay indoctrination' complaints that would lead to a boycott of the show and toys. This is the same for Transformers, GI Joe, TMNT, Jem & the Holograms, He-Man, and all those other franchises that existed to sell toys to kids. You couldn't have openly gay characters, and expect to stay in operation. Lastly, one person's belief is not the same as explicit fact, so again, until you can dig up a source, the claim is rejected based on the industry's history at the time.

The way they "acted" back in the day feels so stale, dry, uninspiring to me. It doesn't feel real - I don't get the impression real characters actually talk to each other, rather some people read a skript and over- and underact.
Maybe others feel different about this, but this is how it feels to me. That's why I can't watch most old cartoons.
