      Hola , amigo :
      I guess they can do it with " Midnight blue " ( 1979 ) , too :
      th-cam.com/video/f38qG3Aeb-A/w-d-xo.html
A precious and immortal song, recorded at Musicland Studios ( Munich, Germany ), owned by the Italian musician and producer Giorgio Moroder.
You can see the influence of Beethoven, Bach, Wagner and Johann Strauss, in addition to that rich mix of styles, ranging from the doo wop of The Platters and The Chordettes, for example, through the sound and heritage of The Beatles, until the disco style, represented by Barry White, Van McCoy, The Bee Gees, Donna Summer (who also recorded in the same studios, like Queen, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and many other greats) and others.

There is a touch of Viennese waltz as a whole ( The theme itself is a waltz, but with a slower rhythm ), an iota of bolero, as well as blues, swing and the aforementioned doo wop (The influence of African music it's undeniable - I think.)
All a bitterness that makes this beautiful ballad, an ethereal song and without equal.
In its part of strings and choral arrangements, Jeff Lynne, its composer and main voice, Richard Tandy, keyboardist of E.L.O. and Louis Clark ( R.I.P. .), who conducted the orchestra.
Kelly Groucutt ( R.I.P. ), bassist for E.L.O. , was his second voice and part of the choirs, too.
Among many other details, it is worth mentioning that this song used the synthesizer, recently launched on the market at that time, the Yamaha CS-80, the same one with which he created immortal melodies, the Greek musician Vangelis; and sound engineer Reinhold Mack (who was very close, in his work, to Queen), used Sennheiser microphones, placed at different distances, in order to create a magnificent surround sound environment, similar to that of the interior of a cathedral. This is very evident, in two other ballads present in the album "Discovery" (1979), to which this song belongs, "Need her love" (With a strong Gregorian chant glaze) and "Confusion" (With a marked accent in Richard Wagner's choral work.)
Lyrically speaking, in one of its parts, there is a reference to a verse from the play "Romeo and Juliet" ( William Shakespeare ): It says "... But what's the difference cos' they say what's in a name ..." ( "... But, how much do they look at what is in a surname ...")
It is intuited that the song refers to the furtive encounter between two lovers, at the stroke of midnight, in a desolate place, which must end before dawn, so as not to be discovered by those close to them.
This song was not made as a single, on either side of the Atlantic, but in Australia.
      A hug .
      Greetings from Chile, South America

Mr. Blue Sky has got to be next from these guys. It’s a song that if everyone in the world listened to it at the exact same time, by songs end the entire human race would have a smile on their face and feel happy for a while. Imagine that.

Trying to leave you this comment AGAIN!!!... I loved your reaction to this song!! This is ELO, and so you really really really need to react to a live performance! I like "Mr. Blue Sky". I suggest 'Jeff Lynne's ELO - Mr. Blue Sky at Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park 2014'. Rock on!!

    • @Cosmo-Kramer
      @Cosmo-Kramer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

It's better for a first reaction for them to just listen to the studio recordings. Then, if they love a couple of tracks, do a separate reaction to them live. (And for live performances, nothing beats their show at Wembley Stadium in London, 2017.)

Jeff Lynn has a fantastic and amazing voice, I can't compare him to any one, it's just so unique. When you start thinking about the time period when this was produced (1976), you suddenly realize that there were very few 'special effects' used and everything was mastered on a 16 track Ampex *TAPE RECORDER!* No digital recorders, no autotune, just pure talent, near perfect harmonies, and timing.😁 Just for fun, you gals should look up every '3 letter' band from the 70's and react to one or 2 songs apiece (i.e. ELP, YES, BTO, ELO, etc etc.) I had a couple 33 1/3 LP albums from ELO back in the day. Great reaction you two!😎👍

I agree with your song choice, but not your suggestion for a lyrics video. It's a natural tendency to read ahead in lyrics videos, and that disrupts the intended song experience. The lyrics are plenty clear enough in, "Telephone Line", to understand what exactly what the song is talking about.

So the secretary left a note to her bosses that said "No answer", meaning that she had never talked to anyone. So their first album came out in the US as "No Answer". The headliner was Santana what a great show that was. It was a great time to be a fan of music like this it was all bran new not just songs from the oldies station. You could see shows like that for 5 or 6 dollars. There were a lot of marihuana smoked at those shows. So as long as your parents didn't know that and forbid you from going.

The violins especially give this song such a large surge of energy when you listen to them. Waves are very strange things because there really isn't any water moving to the shoreline. What people mistake for the movement of water is really "energy", moving to the shoreline, because the water molecules are actually only moving straight up and down. So when people feel like their fighting a body of water, what they fail to understand is they're actually fighting the energy within the water itself. The only water that moves forward is the last wave that hits the shoreline and the only reason why it moves forward is due to the energy within the water. So now extend that metaphorically to a human listening to music. What is a human body mostly made up of?

Your Beatles t-shirt is perfect because ELO was considered sort of continuation of The Beatles after they broke up. The Beatles loved ELO.

Jeff Lynne was very influenced by 50s music and you can hear it in a lot of ELO, little snippets of doo wop harmonising etc.
