Staying at a Hotel with Vintage Vending Machines in Japan

- I stayed at Hotel Korakuen/ホテル公楽園 in Niigata Prefecture. It’s the most affordable accommodation in the area, attracting enthusiasts from all over Japan with its vintage vending machines and arcade games. You can’t book a room online; reservations are only accepted over the phone in Japanese. They do not accommodate reservations in English, which is why there’s hardly any information about Hotel Korakuen in English.

A plane, a train, and a death defying 30 minute walk, shows your commitment to your followers. I guess the journey is worth it for the wallpaper alone.
Walking 30+ minutes in japan is pretty common
12:00 "Nearby means a 1-hour round trip on foot", I'm already in love with your dry humour. 😅
Bonjin is brave like samurai warrior. No dingy hotel with broken vending machines scare him!!
Like a samurai, preciselly, not afraid of the possible dangers of the vintage japanese shabby hotels😎😎!
Amazing how even the most dank and creepy Japanese motel seems so much safe than most places in western countries.
Nissin needs to bring more of their products to the US. I see a lot of things in your and other creators videos, and I get rather jealous that I can't experience those foods myself.
Thank You for allowing us to tag along on your trip.
We need more products over here in the UK, too. You can find a semi decent selection of cup noodles over here, but more would be nice.
Wild that you FLEW , not to mention all the other travel, to eat some sad sandwiches. I admire your dedicaion!
this is the first time i see japan's actual rural community. also the unmanned train station is something out of a horror novel or slice of life.
As soon as you arrived at the hotel I recognised it as Korakuen! It was in the first episode of an excellent Japanese comedy drama series called Nihon Boro Yado Kiko, where the two main characters are touring Japan and can only afford to stay in shabby hotels. As the video mentioned there are many shabby hotel enthusiasts who seek out old run down hotels to stay at. Awesome video, thank you for going there! 😃👍
OMG, you're so brave to stay there, It looks like a place they film horror movies at. It's nice they had all those vending machines and the arcade,Glad you're safe😊 🙏
Thank you fro taking us along! I enjoy your videos and seeing as much of Japan as possible. :)
What an interesting hotel! Scary, yes, but I appreciate the efforts they make to maintain the old vending machines. In any other country they would be long since discarded.
Great video, you captured the mood of a quiet old motel in Japan reminded me of 80's movies. Keep it up, maybe try talking I always want to hear peoples voices in a vlog.
I just found ur channel, you are a very brave soul. That hotel made my whole body itch. I couldn’t do it. Big ups to you my friend❤
I would be scared to stay in a hotel that run-down looking.
Japanese version of The Bates Motel.😯😯 I just couldn't sleep there. I would go visit the vending machines & book it to another newer hotel.
Thanks for taking me along. I enjoyed the trip and the company 😊
I really enjoyed it I love the retro vibe it peaked my interest a lot
Oh man, I can't wait to stay here. I'm a showa retro nerd, since I grew up with it. Thanks for the video!
I really enjoyed watching this video, love the vintage atmosphere and the yummy looking food! Thank you for taking us along in this exciting trip! Please keep it up and stay safe out there! 🙏🏽
15:31 OMG shrimp chips its very tasty and crunchy
Apocalypse themed hotel.
If I get Nightmares I'm Blaming you! 😂
Seriously though, Very intriguing.
Liminal Space Type Feeling.
So 1970's feelings , isn'it ?😎😎Personnally, i can feel and smell some presences in this particular hotel 😱😱!
And he want to visit it again ? Very courageous and passionate guy too !
@@alainrheault6579 Indeed.
Wow awesome😊❤❤❤🤩😍🥰🗾🎉
The "toasted" sandwich is made with bread that was toasted when the sandwich was assembled, then reheated later by the vending machine. I wonder if there are any modern vending machines that can toast the bread and assemble the sandwich on demand. If a vending machine can make pizza from scratch, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
A cheapo hotel in Japan 🙂🙂!
The equivalent of a cheeapo motel in Tashereau Blvd, at Longueuil !
Thanks for sharing !
You are very brave for staying there. 😮
Please if you go back there, can we take a look at more of the machines? The gaming ones too. I love seeing what games they somehow have in such obscure places. Like that time I spotted a Metal Slug cabinet on a rare ferry route tiny arcade room.
You are way braver than I am. I would take one look at the building and turn around.
That motel looks really intriguing. I would like to visit it, for the ancient vending machines, because that totally something that makes Japan so special for me (for all the "crazy stuff"). It looks like in the middle of nowhere however. I dont mind that everything very old, as it is clean. What I definitely dont like however, it that apparently everything smells of cigarette smoke. That is a definitive no go for me. Still, thanks a lot for sharing.
I agree. The smoke smell definitely kills it.
Love the DPRK style light switches
Looks like a good set for a horror film. I'd love to visit :)
Very interesting.
You Need to get yourself a "Black Light and glasses" to Actually SEE WHAT YOU'RE SLEEPING ON FRIEND.
No joke Either
This ain't gordon ramsey hotel hell lmao
They could spruce it up with just some fresh paint 🤷🏻♀️
i love the video, cool vintage :) which camera do you use?
Been to Japan many times and never seen anything as run down as this 😂. I hope you don’t always eat like that
You need an electric scooter.
I think that is the same hotel Abroad in Japan's Chris and CdawgVA's Connor chickened out and left after seeing their room... I think it looks cool
I suppose the owner hotel who smelling the cigarette have smoke the cigar, just to chasing bad spirits here !😁😁
I don't like hotel doors that open outwards; it's unsafe. 😂
Geeze Louise, a can of beer in my city in Canada costs $3.45!
Buy a ham sandwich and a cheese sandwich, stack one on top of the other and have a dbl. decker ham and cheese
looks like you had a good time thats all that matters
Just a caual DC2 Type R parked out front.
在日本無人販賣機林立即現可吃矣~就只怕荷包口袋無錢咩 ~🤗
Hot water 👍
Pajamas 👍
Simple life
Hotel looks abounbed vending machine place not bad. Just need some work on them
That room looks like a place to take a person for an interrogation
12:34 why didn't you get the Niigata pasta dish you wanted but couldn't get at the motel?
if i turn up there an ask for a room in English would they server me or turn me away ?
Disappointing that you had to fly there and they have so little to offer. Im guessing their customers are mostly truck drivers who just want a cheap room.
I have definitely stayed in worse
Lol heartbreak hotel
It is comforting to know that you can still find a plain old hotel in Japan that is not some 21st-century, sterile, magna-strewn, overpriced nightmare.
deerishus....
@11:15. Comb?
🇯🇵🙏
Don't you guys drink water during having any food
Привіт із України
