Lovely and quiet. May I ask what day of the week and what time of day you took this walk? I was just wondering if this level of quietness is typical of any weekday in Thurso? Thanks.
It is. Actually the island of Hoy. It is 14 miles away and the coastline is on average 700 foot high thus it looks closer. Dunnet head the most northerly point on the mainland is East of Thurso. Behind that is John o Groats the most North Easterly point. Most people won't realise how remote this is. The sign in the town centre to Inverness fails to mention it is 110 miles south to Inverness. Visited many years ago by train.
Really enjoy videos where you walk through the less visited towns / cities in the UK. Thank you.
I'd always seen this strange Scandinavian placename on maps and thought, "Well, Yvonne you'll never see it in person." Thanks for showing it to us!

Lovely video. Is that Orkney on the horizon?
