That’s one problem my bird breeder did. He would send me pictures of new ring necks he got because I have one and that’s my favorite parrot! They were around 2 months and he had them on his head and shoulders. Probably that’s why when I got mine he was used to being on my shoulder and it’s hard trying to get him off because if I try he bites my finger and ringnecks have a point front beak and good lord he has drawn blood from me so I’m trying to work with him I’m not doing that. He’s barely a year old

I see that a lot! I look as shouldering my parrot as a privilege not a right. You bite or don’t come off, no shoulder! You could work to incentivize him/reward him for coming down 🤔
