    My Audi calls for: 8j x 19 ET 45, ET range 43-47 OR 9j x 20 ET 42 (40-44). I have access to a set of wheels that are 8j x 19 ET 50. Can I just run with a 5mm spacer?

Yes. You can add 5mm for stock fitting. More if you want to push the wheels out a bit.

What size spacer do you recommend for a 986 with stock wheels?

I found that 10 mm spacers worked for me. You could go to 15 without any problems if you’re at stock ride height. Past this and you’re compromising bearing life and possibly unpredictable handling. My opinion only.

@@nathancortez92 you can likely go more in the rear, but please chech your stock wheel style offset as not all stock wheels have the same offset. Also wheel width will affect the max spacer which will fit with no rubing or increase in camber.

These are not the offsets you're looking for 🧐

I have just today fitted 16mm spacers on the front and 20mm spacers on the rear of my 986. It has definitely improved the look of the car. I haven’t actually driven it yet so can’t say if it makes any difference to the handling but to be honest I don’t think that there will be.
