This video seems to be misleading. Not all EV3 models support this V2L. I had a kia Niro EV (3 trim late 2022) which supported it and it came with an adapter to connect to the charging port. I kept the V2L adapter because the KIA rep... (who was showing off the new EV3 at our local KIA dealer garage, to a bunch of potential invited customers) ...told me the same adapter would work with the Kia EV3 Air model (where an adapter wasn't supplied) but it does not work at all. He also told me I couid buy an adapter for the AIR. I found this out as I have just bought the Air long range EV3 model and my adapter simply does not work in it. I just wish that people who are supposed know things would know them, or just say they don't know for sure. I traded in my Niro EV but the dealer told me they weren't bothered if they got the adapter or not so I kept it. EDIT: I live in the UK.
Hi. Is this still true or did you manage to get it to work? Any comment from the Kia dealer or Kia themselves? All the info about the EV3’s V2L capabilities are murky. The press release says all models support V2L but the catalogue shows only the GT line supports it.
@@Leftplayer1 No I didn't get it to work. There's nothing in the settings which relates to vehicle to load, and nothing in the user manual (which also covers the higher models) about it either! I intend to contact KIA as I was told by their rep that it would work. The other problem is that I never tested it with the old car so it could be the adapter which is faulty. But I do recall finding a setting somewhere in the settings of the Niro EV 3 we had.
@@Leftplayer1 We like the EV 3, as it has a longer range battery, but all things considered there really isn't a lot of difference, between it and the Niro EV (3 trim), both in internal space and driving it around, or even the look of it. My wife uses it much more than I do, and she likes it more. PS: She likes the EV 3 electronic dashboard better, as there is everything clearly visible needed whilst driving without having to switch displays, and she prefers the large digital speedometer, and prefers selecting forwards and reverse on the stick, rather than using the wheel on the front of the centre console. No problems in the month we've had the car, but the Niro EV worked faultlessly too. (72 reg owned from new)

This car can be a great success in Europe if you price it smartly. People don't want to spend a fortune on a car. If the long range is less than 30K euros, I'd go for it. 🙂
@@dmpanis On the right hand drive models (in the UK at least) the charging port is also on the right side (driver side) so if you parked that side next to the wall, you'd also have trouble opening the door to get out.

Also how did you find moving from the Niro to the EV3 in general? I’m considering getting a used 2023 Niro instead of the EV3

You should see Swedish prices on any EV.. 25% VAT makes pretty much any EV sit around €50K 😅
