There's some sort of musical snobbery that seems to be super prevalent in MatD's fans and I can't figure out why. Liking a certain artist doesn't make someone into something else. Fans from singers who are her contemporaries (like Florence + the Machine or Lana del Rey) don't seem nearly as conceited, although there are some. I could genuinely talk for hours on end about how much of a perfect song this is as a wrap-up for the Electra Heart narrative, but instead of being annoying, I'll just say that I got 'burn on' with two diamonds beside it tattooed on my hand in honor of this.
She's a great performer and I would love to see her live, it's too bad that all her London events keep selling out. I like the way that she actually connects with her lyrics, you can clearly see here that they actually mean something to her. It's very rare these days to find artists who can actually write and sing from the heart.
